Switching to flower question?

Should the roots in the pot be filled or should there be room for root growth? Do you usually pot up a couple weeks before the switch to give space for root growth? Please let me know the norm. Thank you

it can be filled , then your gonna have issues when the leafs claw , turn yellow , then you will be here saying what’s wrong …. Your medium is a buffer and if you don’t have that buffer you will be chasing it …. As the old saying goes , bigger the roots bigger the fruits …my final pot I use 10 gallons …

You can re-pot a few weeks before if you want. What size pot are you using now?
You don't want to re-pot during flower though
I went from a 3 gallon to a 7 gallon. Should I let it grow more before switch to flower to fill that up? Would a normal procedure be to up pot from a 5 to a 7 wait a week then switch to flower?

Ok thanks. I thought I read somewhere you didn’t want to leave much room for root growth otherwise the plant will focus on growing roots. That’s why my initial question was whether you leave it root bound or allow for root growth

They will keep growing if there is room no matter what. The first week or 2 is littersly just vigorous growth of everything then you buds will start to form after

The plant can flower and grow roots at the same time.

I've transplanted days before switching to flower. The plant didn't slow down at all and at harvest time the roots had completely filled in the pot.

And no you don't need to go from 3-5-7. You can go straight from a solo cup to your final pot if you want.

It’s best to transplant before flower but in an emergency situation you can transplant during flower, AS LONG AS ITS DONE CORRECTLY! You won’t shock your plant at all, but it will add a few weeks to your flowering process!

Yeah, I used to pot up, give it a couple of days and flip. I used to pot up twice too. Can't be arsed these days, I let seedlings veg in 0.5L pots to the 4th/5th node and then stick them in their final 17L pot. Saves a lot of work.

Yes just don't over water since you are going to a bigger pot now
