I wanted to know if it is ok to switch to a HPS during veg/light cycle, i would let the bulb cool down and then put the HPS in and wial doing this leave the plants in the sun for no more then 40mins, is this a bad idea?
what light are you using right now ?... MH or CFL ?I wanted to know if it is ok to switch to a HPS during veg/light cycle, i would let the bulb cool down and then put the HPS in and wial doing this leave the plants in the sun for no more then 40mins, is this a bad idea?
are you just starting to flower? cuz if you are I would keep the MH in there for a couple of weeks through the stretch. Switch to HPS when you get some buds, and switch back to MH for the final week or two of budding. MH gives off more UV than HPS, and helps to crust the shit out of the buds with trichromes. Seeing as how the stretch is mainly a vegetative process leading up to budding, it would be beneficial (IMHO) to leave the MH in for a bit longer under 12/12, as it will best suit the photosynthetic process needed to store up energy for bud production. The HPS will tighten up the buds, thats about it.
im not going into budding till the 14th, i just want to switch to HPS to get the plants use to it, and to promote more stretch.
They don't need to get used to HPS from a MH swap, do it whenever.im not going into budding till the 14th, i just want to switch to HPS to get the plants use to it, and to promote more stretch.
ok well thanks for the advice i was under the impression that HPS = tall and MH = bushy, but my plants are about 2f side ways and only 1f tall so i was just trying to promote some length is all..... and just a ball park guess but from a 2f master kush "nirvana" plant under a 400w how much bud can i be looking at
lot of fuck assing around, u could damage plants carrying in and out ,u could damage bulb all that handling, restarting ballast costs lot of power,Just veg under mh and flower under hps ,be a lot easier.useing a MH 400w and the HPS will be 400 as well, and the plants are a month old and about 1 foot tall
