I found online for 130 shipped, but is there a better place I haven't seen anything like that on lowes.com or the homedepot.com
I know I want the 3000K and 6500K

I just wish they sold them at the local home improvement stores so i could save on shipping

if you're like me, there isn't a local hydro shop in your state forget about your town. I picked up my T5 from plantlightinghydroponics.com Shipping isn't too bad considering the size of the package (I have 4' T5) and I like them enough that I ordered another hanging T5 apparatus from them the other day.

^ I'm with stupid! lol

Here's a few numbers for you:

T5 24" - 24W; 2,000L. That is only 83.3 L/W. It will take at least 4 of these to barely illuminate 2 plants. With 4 lights you'll recieve only 8,000 Lumens. Not ideal for anything more than seedlings or rooting clones.

T5 48" - 54W; 5,000L. That is 92.6 L/W. With 4 of these you could vegetate 4 plants. That is 20,000 Lumens over a 2ft. x 4ft. area, much better.

Check out the Sun Blaze T5 Light Strips.. you can daisy chain 10 24" to one plug, or 5 48" to one plug. The 48" are much more efficient for the amount of lumens per watt over the coverage area.

If you check the link I posted before you can find four-packs of T5 bulbs from $20 and up. All depending on the company that manufacters the bulbs.

I actually got a good deal, I knee jerk reacted :) I do like those strip fixture fluors but only have a yr warranty and are only in blue. I need to find those in a red, but they don't make those yet...

T5 lights do come in the red spectrum. The Sun Blaze T5 Light Strips come with the blue spectrum bulbs.. but anything from eBay.com to any online or physical storefront will carry or be able to order the red spectrum.

for sure, I have a fixture that does 2 blues and 2 reds, but I did not think I would use 4 blue tubes for the corners. I will just do the corners with CFL's

those strip fixtures only come in the blue and I have LOOKED HARD. Ebay or a speciality shop will sell you a red fluoro but it won't be a skinny strip, it will be a fixture. To answer your question the T5 strips plug into a wall with a power cord. That site he gave has a backorder on them and they are not in stock. They have a good deal on them compared to most that I have seen.

The Sun Blaze T5 Light Strips come with the blue bulbs, and the red ones aren't hard to find. Every site I've been to that have T5's have the blue and red. Google is your friend.

The Sun Blaze T5 Light Strips daisy chain together (24" daisy chain 10 max, 48" dasiy chain 5 max) and only use one normal household plug. The 48" T5's are more efficient than the 24".. 24" are good for seedlings/clones.. 48" for full grown vegetation.

Sun Blaze even offers reflectors and hanging brackets for this light. The best offer for the ability to customize your setup.

Just do some searching, it didn't take me very long to find that these are the best for the price.
