T5 2ft 8 bulb

Hi all! I can say that I am fairly comfortable with growing with HPS. I like doing smaller grows of all kinds of things. Lately, I have been using a 250HPS and seeing how to maximize with that.

I recently bought a T5 2ft 4 bulb set for veg on a few plants.

Now,

For those who have experience using T5 bulbs...

How many plants could I feasibly flower under a 2 ft 8 bulb T5 light?

And how many under a 2 ft 4 bulb T5 light.

p.s. please no "Get an HPS" comments because I have an HPS. I want to try something new...and want some input before I buy a few more of these.

I have read some of VV's posts, but I think he mainly uses the 4 ft bulbs.

Thanks guys !!! :hump:

"feasibly flower under a 2 ft 8 bulb T5 light?"

Of all the factors.... Maybe 4. Look at my pic. I have 3 twerps under a New Wave 28. The tallest is 20".

I did one other plant with the T5. I got like 3-4 OZ's dried. I wrapped mylar around the light creating a "Light Chamber".

That's all you'll get with 192W of T5 Power.

Skunk Passion.

Thanks for the reply rmax. That input is really helpful! I was thinking about running a small scrog with 2 plants. I could pick up a New Wave 2ft 4 bulb tomorrow.

The 8 bulb one would take a bit longer to order, and I'd have to change the grow space around a bit. I think I may be able to get two plants under 2ft 4 bulb if I keep the canopy even.

Any other suggestions?

Tan,

2 plants should work fine.

The problem with the T5's is Bud Density. T5 buds are loose and fluffy compared to the denser buds you'll get with HPS.

Good luck with your experiment. I guess you have to beat me. 4 OZ's dried, sir/ma'am.

(That Skunk Passion above.. the plant has been flowering for a little over 3 weeks.)

I would not recommend using the 4bulb for flowering unless you supplement it with your cfl's on the sides. it's only about a foot wide, I don't think that will be enough of a light spread. Haven't used one either. It is only 10,000lumens. lol VV
