T5 Closet Grow

Hello yall, noobie here checking in and I've got a couple questions before I get my first grow going. I've grown with CFL's before back in the day but must have done something severely wrong since I only managed to acquire a couple of grams from the plant.

In one of my closets I have a little alcove area measuring 2'5''x2'2'' I am setting up for a grow. Where I live heat is an issue on its own so I chose not to use anything bigger than a T5. The light I'm looking at is 2'1''x2'6'' so it will do perfect, I hope. It is a T5HO 8 bulb system. I plan to do a scrog to take full advantage of my limited space.

I have done a bit of research and am trying to get all the supplies I will need for a much successful grow than my first. I have read that Fox Farm Ocean Forest is one of the best soils to use so I found a place locally to purchase it. I already have the seeds on the way which are GH Cheese seeds. I'm not sure one what size pots to use for my grow. I'm assuming I will only be able to grow one plant with the amount of space I have.

What type of nutes should I look into purchasing? I've read a couple places that the soil has enough nutes in it to last through the vegetation stage, is that true?

Thanks to anyone who may take the time to answer my questions or give me advice for a successful grow.

Your plan sounds good you have done some home work. Be sure to get 8 3000k bulbs for flower. I would go with a 5 gallon Smart Pot and SCROG as you plan. That is the best plan to pull the most out of the space you have and lighting you are using. FFOF is a hot soil and I have not needed to feed much with it in veg if I did I got nute burn. I have switched to Happy Frog soil and am much happier with it. As for nutes sorry I cant be of much help since I am in the middle of deciding to change my nutes. I have been using Botanicare Pro Grow and Bloom along with Original Berry and they give me healthy plants but some strains have a odd smell but I dont know if its from the nutes but I think it is.
Oh and be sure to have a fan in there to move the air around, a vent fan will be needed since T5 lighting does give off some heat and it will pull fresh air in. Also adding a CO2 bag is a very good idea.

I do definitely plan on using a fan to dissipate the heat as well as imitate the wind. I will be installing a vent at the bottom of my closet door to get some cool air in and installing a fan at the top of door to get rid of some of the heat. I haven't looked into a CO2 bag or the Happy Frog soild but I will. Thanks a lot for the help and suggestions.
