T5 High output...What does high output mean...why does it matter???

T5 High output...What does high output mean...why does it matter???.....does it mean anything or did I just just get suckered out of some cash by good marketing...LOL

There are standard and high output T-5's. The T-5 HO's put out about twice as much light as a standard T-5. The high output or HO's for short is fairly common to fluorescent lamps. There are T-12 HO lamps that have been around for a long time that would work well for growing. T-5 lamps are newer and are more efficient than the T-12 HO's.
