T5's SOG, Questions

Hello All,
I'm brand spanking new to this forum and a first time grower.
I'm in the process of designing a stealth grow cabinet and and have a few questions.
My plan is to build a box 4 ft high x's 5 ft wide x's 30" deep.
I plan on using Gold Skunk seeds in a SOG from Doc Bush as they don't require any veg time plus they finish fast at 42 days from rooted clone.

First question; The literature states that the plant will produce up to 26 gms in a "tight Sea of Green", So how tight is tight? The plan is to place 24 plants in tall 6" square pots in a 2' x 4' area or 18 plants in 8" pots.
Furthermore the box will be lit with 3 T5 HO lights per row, 2 warm (3000K) and one cool (6500K) or Actinic bulb.
With 3 T5's per row this gives 15,000 lumens (initial) spread over the entire row of 4 ft.
Is this enough to flower with? I can add more lights if needs be.

I plan on using commercial fixtures instead of a gawdawfully priced unit from a hydro store.
There's a place online that sells 98% reflective specular aluminum in 2' x's 4' sheets and plan to fashion my own reflectors and am going to paint the inside of the box with 90%+ elastomeric paint (rubberized roofing paint)

Also, I've read tons about uVb light and am still in the air about it. Some say it's bull, others say it's da bomb. Any further insight would be appreciated.

I see there is still a lot of debate whether T5's can produce stony nugs and was wondering about other peoples success stories and how they did it.

As far as nutes, the plan is to go all organic using Advanced Nutrients Iguana Juice Bloom as my base with Final Flush at the end. I may add some Sensizym as well. First grow = K.I.S.S.

That's it for now. All comments are appreciated

2000 lumens per square foot works, OR about 50-75 watts per plant. I'd go with 18 plants in 8" pots, an 8" pot is roughly a 3 gallon size, while 6"ers are about 1 gallon.

your gonna have a light spectrum of 2700 with grow t5s but i dont think is a big deal. im sure 2100 is more ideal but ill let ya kno in a month how the t5s do

well....i have a few things to say about t-5 lighting and numbers of plants, harvest etc. My flowering table would fit in the box, nothing else would when its in there. Those are those godawful priced hydroshop t-5's. Paid $340.00 for them including the bulbs or about $45.00/ light. Took about ten minutes to install the bulbs and hang it. Each bulb is enclosed in a reflector. The fixture can be 1/2 on 1/2 off and the cord came with it. Price out your components. Uhh.. that $340.00 includes the sales tax. I have considered using a couple of the individaul tubes for side lighting. If you add two to each side you will have a 660 watts and it would kick ass. I don' think your closet would be big enough if you did it that way though. lol
By the way, the 6" square pots and 8" round pots are about the same capacity, the square ones take up less space so you could get more plants in there, not saying I recommend that. VV

Thanks Vic, I found some 2 light industrial fixtures from a Canadian company called Canlyte for $30 ea. I'm now thinking about 2 of those per row for a total of 8 lights in the box. Sunleaves sells T5 "grow Lights" for about $7.50 each (if you buy a case of 25) yikes. Still need to check some electrical suppliers for prices on bulbs, they sell 3000 & 6500K lights. I've been reading some more and found a link for nLite USA from Babygro, but the site is down. Those lights look awesome, much better spectrum.
As far as pots? hmmm, I hear ya. I found some "Rose buckets" that are 7.67" square and 10 inches deep, they may be even better for the roots. The box is gonna be tight I may have to expand it a little. It all depends on how much the plants stretch when turned to 12/12 I guess. Experiment, experiment, experiment.
