T8 Fluro Question

Unfortunately the search won't let me use t8 as its to short, and all the info I'm finding seems to be for cfl's...

I'm using a 4ft t8 dual bulb 6500k (still early in vegging) and I'm trying to keep them within 1-2 inches, is this at all sufficient. I know the T8 has alot more lumens than the t12, but is it enough at that distance. I'll be doing sog for this grow as it gives me the best chance of keeping my lights close enough. For flowering I plan on replacing the bulbs with 2700K. Any help is much appreciated.

You're right on the money. With the T8's you want to keep them about an inch away. Make sure and lollipop your girls so they have a canopy and your not wasting any growth potential where light isn't penetrating.
