Hello everyone, I will be posting the exploits of my hit and miss adventures here in this journal. I decided to do this after much reading here on this wonderfull site, noticing just how many of us out there are out here in the world who love the satisfaction and excitement involved in producing a good smoke,well......hopefully. When it comes to producing, I have been at both ends of the spectrum and everywhere in between. Just recently I ordered my "dream strands" and then proceeded to fail miserably with them shortly after germination. So ,in short if you subscribe to my journal you will be along for the ride for the next few months as I attempt another run in the saga. I can honestly tell you that I am by no means an expert and have posted many a 911 for help with probs. It's gonna be fun, here we go.........

THE SETUP-
We will be growing LowryderxAk47 wich as many know, is an autoflowering f1 hybrid. I have grown this only once before only to make seeds for this run. Once it sprouts, this plant grows ver, very rapidly. One very unique thing is that auto's have little to no vegatative stage, no matter the light regiment wich make cloning all but impossible. Auto's are sexed at around 17 to 23 days and males then removed(unless seeds are desired). The height of the females in my experience is anywhere from 4" to 20" producing around 28grams or less dry per plant. So I guess next thing to explain is our equipment. Room- We will be using a Dark Room grow tent by secret jardin, it measures around 4'11x4'11"x6'7".

4" vortex fan for carbon filter
6" vortex fan to bring cool air into tent, over bulb, and out of tent
4x4 flood and drain table with res and pump
2 timers
1 temp and humidity monitor
CWS 24-7 nutrient monitor(measures ph ppm and res temp)
jiffy plugs to start seeds
tray with 3"dome for seedlings
4"rockwool blocks with hole
advanced nutrients micro grow and bloom
advanced nutes ph up and down
I think this covers most of it, at this point I have soaked the seeds for 24 hours in tap water, placed them in damp paper towel and put it in a warm, dark place.

ok dudes, got some good progress to report. There were 65 seeds sarted total. 5 were powerskunk by g13 labs, 4 were bagseeds and the rest were lowryder2 x ak47. Out of the all of those only about 4 or 5 of the aK did not pop. So the plants were fed only tap water until the 3rd set of actual leaves formed. they were then moved from the domed tray under a 8-light t5 to the grow tent and under the warm glow of the 600hps. The peet plugs were placed in 4" rockwool cubes that had just had a quick soaking of nute-water.As for the nutes, Advanced Nurients Micro,Grow,Bloom were added using the light feeding schedule.(AUTOFLOWERING PLANTS DO NOT LIKE HEAVY NUTES!!!)In fact the recomended light feeding is 1.40 tsp per gal(about 7 ml) for each of the 3 parts, but that should be cut by 1/3 for the first week to ease them into things a bit. Also advanced nutes B52 was added at 5ml per gal, this has had good results in exploding root growth and overall increased heartiness. So after the peet plugs had been put in the pre soaked cubes, the plants were left alone with the light on for 20hrs each day. After about 3 days the plants had the first actual taste of nutes. To avoid possible shock, they were fed from the top by simply dipping and pouring one quart of nute solution over the top. They were then left alone for two days. Now they were ready to start feeding by flood and drain. The ph was checked as it had climed slightly to 6.1, and adjusted back to 5.5 with a ppm of around 800.I know to some that 800 ppm may seem weak, but believe me it is plenty for the autos.Actually at the peak of feeding the ppm won"t be over 1200 or so. o the pump was kicked on and timed to see how lond to set the digital timer for future reference. It took 5 mins to fllod the tray about1.5 inches up the cubes. Once unplugged the nutes flow back down into the res and this process will eventually be repeated 4 times each 20 hrs, but for the present it is repeated only once per 20 hrs. So here are some pics of where things stand as of tonight. It has been 5 days since they were put in the cubes and first fed any nutes and have made significant growth. So far things are very promising and every time the tent is unzipped there is a deep sigh because you never know what you are gonna get, changes happen very fast with plants at this stage, both good and bad.
