They dont have lots of time off. They can make insane money, way more than many doctors. But it's a tiring, unforgiving job. And many people in the intellectual world look down on dentists, and for some, they would only like to be accepted.
A dentist by trade perhaps you are?

Six years no cigs in June! I quit at 21 lol, right?! It was easy for me though, I had lost the like of it already and started getting headaches when I smoked a cig, so I just dropped em. High five to all those that have quit!

DO NOT expect an apology. those types cant really control that for the most part. there are a few exceptions however, i worked at a group home for a while so ive seen it all.

she was certainly in the wrong, you did the right thing going to your boss.

i hate to say this cuz i know people have issues, but, someone like that SHOULD NOT have a job, at least that job anyways. Ive had numerous situations where a bi-polar/mentally ill female has gotten me fired or repremanded. its a huge problem in america. not just girls either, just stating my own personal experiences.

EDIT: again nothing personal against females. i just only seem to have issues with females. im a fairly open minded person too, its hard for me to figure out. maybe because im a bit shy in person, which invites me getting walked on? idk. Just wanted to clarify tho! sry females! i swear im not a shovenistic pig! :)

hmmm... i dont think i agree with this. ive known a few dentists over the years. they had more free time than work. i will agree that dentists typically make much more money than typical family practice docs in the usa tho. it is something that has a ton of variables, but ive personally never heard a dentist complain of their field.
i also have seen plenty more doctors be overworked than dentists. its a huge epidemic in my area. i just recently had serious issues with my PCP/FD.

Around my area they've tried to dedicate entire days to free dental work at a couple offices. the lines form days ahead of time... days. even at sub freezing temps.
no one has dental insurance. if u do they get u RIGHT in and so on. no long days around here, except for the free ones.

back to the main topic: either way tho i hate having to work with people who make everyone else's job around them that much harder. id say at least 25% of all successful/rich americans dont deserve the job they have. prolly never will change either.

Dentists have access to drugs, including Type I (narcotics.) They are able, although it is considered unethical, to write prescriptions for themselves and more than several dozen each year dies from overdoses of medicines (and gasses) they have on hand in their offices. What Dentists and Police have in common here is the readily available means to suicide. Their motives may vary, but both do not suffer from lack of either opportunity or means.

The #1 killer of dentists is stress-related cardiovascular disease.

very similar experience here as well... they started to make me sick. now just the smell makes my head spin. congrats for not smoking ya'll.

i still get mad at my girl for smoking. not only does it make me sick when i inhale it, and she doesnt even smoke all that much. but also i managed to get off of a serious opiate problem. i dont think its fair for her to keep smoking cigs and look down on me about my opiate issues.

i know a female with really bad bi-polar. she doesnt seem to effect her co-workers unless she is provoked. however if she doesnt take her meds.... watch out! it can be something as simple as her anxiety or pain meds, not the prozac. so yeah when u find a drug/combo that works, dont just quit taking it. if it bothers you discuss it with your dr. cuz once you start taking them you change, you cant just quit taking them, or take them occasionally.

infact the denial for need of meds is typically a schizo issue, not just bi-polar. that chick has issues. i feel bad for her, but she shouldnt be allowed to take people down with her either.

i agree dentists abuse narcotics quite often i almost mentioned it. i just have never seen a dentist in MI that had it harder than any PCP/FD. in fact i bet alot of dr's also suffer from this condition.

i didnt know they could prescribe type 1. i think u are mistaken. type 1 means its not prescribable in the usa for the most part. hence marijuana being a class one like heroin.

cocaine, amphetmines, and other opiates are all type 2 meds. infact just today on the abc news they mentioned a crackdown on CIII hydrocodone

You should start moving things around her office and desk without her knowing, but only to the point that she starts questioning reality.
To hell with moving things around. Take a axe to her dam desk and set fire to it .If she doesn't get the message Google napalm how to make. I promise she will get the dam message then. I can not tolerate people like her !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

how is it? , their job is stressful, so is mine, so is most peoples the difference between mine and theirs is that they have access to drugs, so they can self medicate, infact half the people on this website do that with pot...how is that ridiculous??

If you google 'mortality rate of dentists' you get all kinds of contradictory statements, even for the internet there's alot pointing in different directons on the first page alone.

With all due respect, I didn't think your job was that stressful compared to a dentist, Not like any, but maybe less than someone that deals with ins co., blood and absceses.

(damn I double posted again.)
