It's def. not as easy as people think. I use to see a girl that did it and made a good living for her and her son. I was the after hours super discount hair cut guy that got the 10 minute scalp massage and such.

oo so you're saying accidentally killing themself yes? Because I can't see how a dentist is at the top of the list to commit suicide because he has access to meds. Also, just because a cop has a gun doesnt mean that is why cops are also at the top of the list, not because he has access to it.

how does one accidentally commit suicide as it is a choice, act, not happenstance.......nm you cant, idk, kind alike homicide and murder are different . .to me suicide is a choice act

and 30 years ago cigarettes were still healthy, . . its called information you learn and evolve . .and they are highly prone to suicide and drug abuse often leads to such

cops do it from stress or guilt

correlation is not causation , these two separte stats do not mean the cause of each from each individual profession would be the same that is a fool argument

thats what Im saying. A cop isnt on the top of the list because he has a gun. so how is a dentist also at the top of the list for having access to medications.
 
I personally know of two dentist that have committed suicide, both for very different reasons. I've been in the field long enough to see that it's a certain personality type that choses this profession and if I had to pin point any one thing, I'd say that's the underlying connection. They are often very demanding people, self absorbed, impatient and they also see themselves as above others. On the other hand, I know some truly wonderful, gifted and happy Dentist. One of the happiest Dentist I know is also one of the poorest, he drives the worst car, wears second hand clothing and has a regular house just like his staff and patients. He constantly gives to other, he does free work on a daily basis and is always involved in some sort of community outreach... this man in my opinion, will never take his own life because he gets what life is all about. I really wish I had a job with him...but his staff would never leave him.

i never said he was top of the list because he has access to medications you need to read- reread and and read again you seem to have trouble with it. I simply was just posting a quote from something I found on the internet as too one of the many speculations why dentists commit suicide, there is no hardcore evidence they are even the number one job to commit suicide. If you google it, there's plenty of articles that say its a myth, there's some that say theyre number 3 or 4, and some that say they are number 1.

a working parent is not the same as a stay at home parent a working parent goes to their 9-5 job and then has the child afterwords......
 
Staying at home with a toddler is alot of work. If you want to be an actual good parent anyway, and not use the tv for a babysitter.

mmhm i give mad credit to stay at home parents their life isn't easy
wake up early morning, make a nutrition break fast, clean up , teach the child, play for abit, more education lessons, make lunch, eat lunch,clean up, nap time, ect ect its not easy
 
Yes, I agree with sunni, the stats are all over the place. I was at a Dental lecture last year and that's where I came up with my stats I posted earlier. There was also something else said in that lecture that I found pretty interesting...(but don't have any stats to back it up.) It was suggested that people who go into a profession for the love of what they do end up better off finically then those who enter a profession purely for the sake of money. Like I said, I don't know if that's true but that's what the presenter said. If I had to guess on that, I'd say if you are not happy in your job, you may be more inclined to spend tons of money outside of work to try to fulfill yourself... Those who are already happy in their working lives, don't need or want much other than what they already have. Work is where many of us spend the majority of our lives, it's so important to have a good heathy work place. I guess that's why people like myself and April turn to others when our situations are difficult to deal with.

that is completely true!!!
People who go for a job for just money reasons, end up disliking their life a lot , they dont wanna have to go to work, they don't want to put extra hours in and if they deal with customers, they generally are twats.
 
yes but see if you work at a job that pays low wages, say $8-9 an hour, you have to work a shit ton of hours(if you can get them) and that can cause a person to be unhappy. nevermind trying to support a family on $9 an hour....
