Taking clones for the first time help

Hello and thanks for looking in i'm going to be taking clones for the first and have read up on it with some very good guides and pics showing how to do it so thats fine and its not going to be my question.

What's the latest time you can take clones from a plant after you have put it into flower?

Or should you never take clones after you have placed it into flower?

I take them up to 2 weeks into flower, but some so you should not. I have never had a problem with the clone or the flowering plant it was taken from.
