Taking clones for the first time

hi everyone.
Ive had 3 harvest now and I just got done growing some super dank blueberry. anywho.... I took some clones for the first time. and well I dont expect them to live, this is a learning process for me.
Sooooooo ..... I took 3 clones, I watch the utube vids, made the 45 degree angle.... I used the rooting powder which I really dont like, I will purchase the gel for next time. anyway I bought a little dome (cheap jiffy brand) and well its been 3 days and my clones look like they are in major shock, possibly dead. but they are still bright green.
the real question I have is... how long does it take a clone to recover? and is there any tips you can give to me? I use CLFs and my clones are under 24/0 right now and I keep it as humid as I can , about 90% :eyesmoke:

teach me your ways

Same thing happened to me! The first batch of clones fell over within an hour, let them go for 2 days and thought they were dead so I pulled them. Did a second round a week later and again, they fell over immediately but this time decided to let them go. It took 5 days for them to start to recover and stand up again. They are all doing well now and transplanted into 1 gallon pots.

I used gel and jiffy pellets w/ a dome and heat mat. I'd say let them go for awhile and see what happens. Good luck!

ive used the powder and gel both, i think the gel is overrated, my clones rooted faster with the powder than they did with clonex gel

I use no humidity dome, no voodoo or magic, just an aero cloner and roots pop in 7-10 days just sticking them in there and letting them be. Too many people think cloning is black magic, well for the people who know better it is not.

Build a bubble cloner for faster results and success!

Materials needed:

1 - small,shallow tote w/lid -$3
1 - single outlet aquarium air pump - $10
1 - roll of standard size aquarium air tubing - $2
1 - aquarium air stone(big enough to fit inside of tote) - $2
3 or 4 - neoprine foam discs(usually only found in hydro shops) - $0.50 each
2 or 3 - gallon jugs of distilled water - $0.89 each

Building steps:
Cut 3 or 4 hole out of the lid that came with your tote to fit the neoprine foam disks in.

Make another small hole in the lid to be able to fit the aquarium air tubing through

Connect the aquarium air tubing to the air outlet on the aquarium air pump

slide other end of aquarium air tubing through small hole you cut in the lid

now connect that end of the air tubing to the bubble stone

place bubble stone inside tote

fill tote a little more than halfway from the top with the distilled water

lower bubble stone into tote, snapping the lid back on the tote

plug aquarium air pump into the wall

take your cuttings after dipped in gel, gently place them into the neoprine foam disks

insert disks into the lid of the tote

And there you have it! Your very own bubble cloner! Just remember don't think about it too much! Cloning is a very simple process. a lot of people over think it and get intimidated. key rule to cloning is to keep the cuttings leaves moist until roots appear! Humidity dome or not! Ya see a plant cutting can only feed through its leaves since it doesn't have an established root system to uptake any water! So keep those leaves dew like till you see roots! With a bubble cloner my cuttings usually perk right back up within 24-36 hours after placed in my cloner and they usually show roots 5-7 days following! Hope that helps ya! Good luck!
