Taking indoor plants outdoors - transition from 18/6 light.

I'm losing my indoor growing space so now I gotta grow a year's worth of weed outdoors in one go using just 4 plants.

Right now I've got rooted clones in 18/6 light. I'm trying to get them outdoors without putting them into flower.

Last night I dropped to 16/8. I was going to reduce 15 minutes per week for 8 weeks until they're on 14/10 light, at which point there will be 14 hours of daylight outside and I can put them out in a greenhouse that I've hopefully built by then. Does that sound like a decent plan to avoid bloom/reveg?

Not really. If they gona flower they gona flower. You're basically telling the plant that daylight hours are reducing so it's time to flower. Even just running a small light in the greenhouse for a couple hrs as it's getting dark will stop them from flowering. You get 14 hrs of daylight. But is there anything obstructing the light in the early morn or eve? That will make the plant flower too. Especially when so close to 12hrs.

Seems like a lot of work for nothing. Why would you slowly reduce the hours of light? 14 hours of light will either be enough or too little to make them flower. Slowly reducing the amount of light they receive will have no effect on them.

Cutting it close with 14 hrs i would drop down to 16 an hold them till going into greenhouse then run a light for 2 hrs at night for a few more weeks mid late may is pretty safe to turn off lights any where in the USA.

Sounds good. Even once my bloom closet is torn down, I can still run my veg box for a few more months. I'll just plan on getting them into the ground later. There will be 16 hours of light per day where I live around the end of May. This gives me an extra month to build my greenhouse and sort out my clones.

I've grown indoors for over 20 years and I only just got the hang of it, and now I gotta go outside. This will be an epic shitshow.

If you can grow indoors then you can grow outdoors. You just have to be mindful of things you don't have to worry about indoors such as extreme weather and pests. An active IPM plan would be wise to consider now.
