Talking How long for a "during grow/flower" Flushing??????

When u flush ur plants between res changes, How often do u flush ur plants throughout their grow? And when u do flush them, how long do u flush them for? As of right now I flush every week, with every res change. I flush for 48 hours. Is that OK? I also picked up some General Hydroponics FloraNectar today, which the guy said to also use when I flush. PLEASE NOTE I'M NOT ASKING ABOUT A FINAL FLUSH BEFORE HARVEST! Sorry didn't mean to yell. Just makin sure I'm understood. Thanks for any info. -Dodge

wow, 48 hours is way too long of a in between flush!!
I flush for an hour at the most in between res changes-and i think the guy at the hydro store was referring to using the floranector after your end flush and not with every flush because if you did this you are really not flushing them. SUGAR IS NOT FOR FLUSHING! use some clearex or just plain water-the reason 48 hours is too long is because the roots need to breath and will drown the plant if the roots are submerged in water too long but its not like i know what im talkin about so dont take my word for it, just screw up your crop like you are doin-its your harsh smoke not mine-i prefer the best!

I myself flush each res change but not like most people do. I clean my res out with a wash clothe and hot water that is it. I do not use any soap or cleaners. It serves the purpose of keeping any beneficial microbes in the res through out the grow. The grow container on the other had I flush with three gallons of water with Clearex added at the recommended ratio, about 10ml/G. I mix up 1.5 gallons and use a watering can, then I do it again with another 1.5 gallons. I do not run any flush solution through my system, I like to keep the microbes untill I harvest at which point I sterilize the system completely and run it for a week with the sterilize solution. I change my res out every 10-14 days, and flush the grow container every res change.

Yeah my bad. I copied and pasted that from my last grow cause no one ever gave me an answer the last time I posted this. And as far as roots being submerged in water?????? I grow in a DWC Waterfarm type system. My roots ARE submerged 24/7 in nutrient/water. Actually a 48 hour flush isn't bad persay. I have done it 2 grows already. I haven't had a problem with it. As far as using FloraNectar for flushing I don't. I don't even use FloraNectar anymore. But I won't lie........ I never flushed my last crop, when I was using the FloraNectar. Actually let me REPHRASE that. I flushed 1 plant(Barney's Farm Blue Cheese) for a week with fresh water. And the G13 Labs Power Skunk, I didn't flush. And to be quite honest..... Everyone liked the taste off the Power Skunk way more over the flushed Blue Cheese(though I personally like earthy tasing bud sometimes) where as the PS was smooth and sweet. So as far as my experience flushing really didn't make any change. And as far as the bud burning?????? It burned really smooth and in a bowl, the ash turned white, which is a good sign. No bud or residue left over. But I am growing a Power Skunk right now and this one a am going to flush for 7-10 days. Just to see if the taste is even better. Which, like I said, it was already GRRRRREAT. Plus I'm letting this one go 2-3 extra weeks then I did the last one. Its a sativa and I felt it still had a few extra weeks of budding. It was my first grow and I was dying to chop it down. Now I'm over all the "growing" excitement, so now it's different. I don't handle the girls as much. I'm not in and out of the room. I'll spend some time and admire her now, don't get me wrong, but I'm not there checking for signs of trouble and everytime sometime looked wrong try to fix it. That just seemed to create a bigger problem. So I've gotten over the rush. Now it's perfecting time! The Power SKunk is going great and so is the Super Silver Haze. just because you never had a problem with it does not mean it is right. I never flushed in between res changes and never had a problem eather. the only way i would think of flushing is if i have visable salt build up on the substrate.

Dude I'm not gonna sit here and argue. If I've had 1 successful grow and am 3/4 thru this grow(2) with no problem. I'd say it's right. What I've learned is everyone has their own way of growin. If it works.... it works! Some people think there's only 1 way. THEIR WAY! That's why I avoid coming on here. Ask a question u get people arguing, And trying to prove points, and worst of all, gettin rude. Just state ur experience and move on. And that dude was talking about not flushing for 2 days cause it would drown my roots. Read his post! My roots ARE submerged in water 24/7 so did he know what he was talkin about???????????

i didnt mean to come off rude if i did, and i should have said "just because you never had a problem with it does not mean it is the BEST way, experment!!!!!!!!!! I have had grows with no problems but the bud didn't come out great with good genitics ,and other grows with a little complacations and the bud was killer with bag seeds. but you are right everyone grows their own way
