Tall Seedlings

Ok so I planted some germinated seeds about 1/2"-1" under the soil and they sprouted about a week and a half ago but the stems on the seedlings are so long that if you just poke them they fall over. Its supposed to thunderstorm tonight and Im afraid that they are all just going to die. I tried planted them a little bit deeper but one of the ones I transplated into a deep container just died so I didnt want to move the rest. Will they be ok through some rain? Is this normal to happen?

they will probably get knocked over and you can just so re straighten them back up when its done, or it will grow it self back up

But is it normal for seedlings to have 2 leaves and be a good 5" out of the soil? how is a plant outside supposed to survive when it grows like that?
