I have a few tammatos plants and the skin is tuff on then what is the cause?

There red you just have to peal the tammato to eat it

Sounds good but remember overwater will split the skins.
Tuff skin is usually on small underfed tomato.

Not always the cause for split, I have seen them split when they are ripe and watered instead of picked/harvested.
