Taste quality is well less then desired..

So after chopping take the stems with the buds, and put the stems in water to flush out all the nutrients, etc. Then dry and cure? Or did I just butcher what you were trying to tell me? :/ lol
 
Just like you'd vase a flower in a vase. Take care they don't go dry until the cycle is completed in reverse osmosis water for best results. I have a trough setup with auto topup switch and valve.

wtf are u talking about? since when do people put cannabis in a vase like a rose to flush?
 
there messin with you after they ripen cut all big leaves off then hang for 4 or 5 days then cure the advanced serch bar at the top right corner can help you find more info on harvesting ,drying or curing just type in key word like "curing" hope this helps put your bud in a vase thats funny.
 
If you knew what I'm saying you'd never just chop and dry again. I use a trough with a floatswitch and and electronic valve to keep my chop from going dry during the RO water cycle...without the roots.
 
growing with miracle grow takes great amount of planning and organization. Serapis uses it just fine so to say that it is ineffective is ignorant. in addition i have used the entire fox farm line for quite a few grows and my overall opinion and experience is that its sucks. the only products worth using from their line are the solubles which are not organic. their bases suck and their micro does not do shit and is just watered down worm tea with very low ppm. their soil is ok but i prefer sunshine mix #4 which is more coco based. FF ocean forest has too much peat in it which causes the soil to become acidic if you use it i suggest mixing with perlite and dolomite lime which will help buffer the ph.
 
How long do I vase them for? And do you have any links or anything I might be able to do some further research on vasing? It does sound like a really good idea to me. My problem was a nasty taste and I see no reason why vasing a plant is ridiculous, the plant continues to live after being chopped, will absorb water through the stem, thus flushing out all the nutrients and extra garbage that affects the taste. Doesn't seem very stupid to me, just uncommon..

Bird, if you're going to start spreading theory you might want to at least take the time to explain it in depth... no one else here has ever heard of what you're talking about...

I'm not saying it wouldn't "work"... but I don't see how it's any different than flushing through the roots... which I coincidentally also don't believe is necessary, but I'll leave that one alone as it's such a controversial issue...

At the very least, some links would be good...

I'll say it again.

This isn't about flushing, it's a matter of the fact that you cut the bud off 4 weeks early, quick dried it, and didn't cure it. Please do some research on why we dry slow and why we cure...

Will the fact that I am growing with Miracle Grow soil, and Grow Bloom nutrients affect taste at all? I know that I jumped the gun a little bit, and wasn't expecting it to taste like well... marijuana.. But my main initial problem was it tasted like additives, not just premature bud, or plant matter. (I've done my fair share of stupid things as a child, such as smoking leaves or grass or whatever.. you know kid stuff.) So I feel like I would know if the taste was just purely premature. Any advice on how to solve this problem?
 
The main thing you are probably tasting is clorophyll... which will naturally dissipate during the slow drying and curing. It is harsh, burns the throat, tastes horrible. It's possible that you are tasting "additives" I guess, but it doesn't sound like you really know what you're talking about so I'm guessing you are just reacting poorly to the heavy clorophyll of an early harvested bud that was dried too fast and not allowed to cure. (Not that any amount of curing is going to save a bud that was dried too fast, but I digress)
 
Probably, and no, i'm no expert on any of this. Just trying to learn as much as I can asking questions, even if I look foolish in the process lol.
 
Yeah I hear you... didn't mean to be harsh, just being honest... you might not know what clorophyll tastes like and assume it's some other chems... but clorophyll is nasty and will ruin otherwise good bud if dried too fast.

It can be useful if you really have something go wrong ... like when a partner overfeeds twice (damn shroom-heads) during late cycle, etc.

@OP: Way too early a sample cut from that plant with zero cure ... expected crappy taste. Until you go full term and cure properly there is no "dialing" this in for taste based on a premie sample. Flushing most soils just means dont feed them any bloom booster for the last two weeks. It's highly debated and to each their own. Personally the hassle and mess of 3x / 4x watering ratio flushes is just a pain in the arse with minimal result change with proper soil/feeding. But you have to know your plants, learn your medium, know what they are telling you, etc to even come close to guessing if this would be needed.

*shrug* Wanted to just post a supporting think on the RO flush thing, but figured I'd chime in. GL.
 
No problem man, I appreciate the honesty. I'm sure it gets annoying answering the same questions all the time, or dealing with people who just don't know what their talking about but think their the, "The MaryJane Jesus" or something. And I think I know what it tastes like now lol.
 
I know precisely what I'm talking about. It's the difference between a kush taste and bud that's been chopped and dried. It's the last 24hr cycle taking them out as the hps comes on. Be sure they don't go dry during this final cycle.
