Prune off all fans when you chop. After vasing finish pruning and hang to dry.
Just like you'd vase a flower in a vase. Take care they don't go dry until the cycle is completed in reverse osmosis water for best results. I have a trough setup with auto topup switch and valve.
I also use Fox Farm Soil. Both not priced to badly on amazon.com Happy growing
Premature harvest, dried too fast, no cure. These are the reasons.
If you knew what I'm saying you'd never just chop and dry again. I use a trough with a floatswitch and and electronic valve to keep my chop from going dry during the RO water cycle...without the roots.
