Tasted terrible!!!

I have a general question that I may already know the answer to but need verification.

I have a plant that is 34 days into flower. I clipped and dried one small bud for a test.

My assumption is when I smoked it, it tasted like crap because of all the nutrients still in the plant.

When you gently squeez a bud it smells crazy dank.

After the flush I should be able to taste all good things right?

This is my first grow so I am still learning every day.

that and also when your drying and curing the plant chlorphyll is dieing, it's what makes the plant green in color and what also along with nuts helps with a "fresher" taste when its still fresh...hope this helps

You sampled bud that wasn't even 4 weeks into flowering? What a waste. A lesson learnt though, don't bother doing that again :)

yea man, that was a waste but oh well, its too late now. after your bud is DONE, the drying and curing process will have it tasting better

+1

I think we've all been guilty of this at one time in our pasts. lol
Galderman, you should read some stickies about when to harvest and how to dry and cure, a little bit of knowledge from research can go a long ways.
I wish there was this kind of information at my finger tips when I first started, the learning curve these days is so fast if you choose to take the time to use the information.

Good luck with your grow Galderman.

Keep um hangin.

when you say you dried it i assume it means you stuck it in the oven or microwave. you can take a fat nug of perfectly ripe dank and put it in the oven and just totally ruin the flavor of it. flushed or not flushed, organic or chem nutes, ripe or not ripe. doesn't matter if you dry it wrong.

Yeah it was just WAY too early to be picking test buds, don't worry yet. Even at the end of flowering, a bud would taste pretty bad right of the plant.

It's a huge waste but I feel ya. Ive sampled early and same thing it's chlorophyll and nutes but if it got you fried wait til it's mature and cured.

When I have done the same thing you did it always tasted not that good to downright nasty . Just a premature bud taste , nothing to do with flushing . Even after it's really done and you try to do a quick-dry they are always nothing good - taste wise . It's best to let the plant finish and then dry / cure it before trying it . Sticky posts are full of good info on the subject , also youtube has videos that can help .
