150w HPS in soil with Foxfarm Nutes (grow big, tiger bloom and big bloom) in a 2'x3'x6' white interrior painted cabinet. 6in fan running inside to move air, and a 3 inch computer fan for an exhaust. My first legit grow (or so i thought). 30 days of veg, topped once, and 72 gurelling days of flowering. Hung in a not-humid dark closet with a fan blowing air through the closet but not direcly on the buds. After all my hard work, my bud tastes and smells like hay. fml :wall: It gets me high but i have to say i'd be embarrassed to show it to anybody. It dosnt smell or taste anything like the bud I got the seeds from. What the hell did i do wrong???

It has just gotten dry enough to smoke as of today. I put most of it into glass mason jars to try and cure it, but would curing really make shit tasting weed into sweatness?

I'd like to see a picture of what it looks like.. But how long has it (was it) been in the dark room upside down? Then placed in jars for a week plus? (remembering to release moisture) then what? we need more info..

It hung for about 3 1/2 - 4 days and got put into jars today. Yes I'll remember to release moisture. Am I judging the quality too soon?

well if all you did was hang them up and let em dry out, like literally DRY out then you did give the sugars time to break down and everything that gives it that sweet smell was dried out of it. for good quality bud, hang them for 24 hours. or until the outside layer seems to have lost most of it moisture and then put them in sealed containers. open the container a few times a day to let the moisture that is SLOWLY coming out escape. what this does is make the inner wet part of the bud exfoliate kinda. so the wetness slowly leaves the bud, and when its all done your pot still has just enough moisture in it. and because of the container it makes the whole bud be evenly the same wetness, if you will.

It could be too dry...do the stems snap clean apart or still flexy? like DARE said you want to have a LITTLE moisture in that stem so it sweats. Give it another 3-4 days in those jars, move the buds around so you don't get mold.

The bud is still relatively moist. It wont stay lit without really torching it. I'm all for curing and am still going to do it, but does is it really THAT noticeable in taste and smell both? I'm praying that it is...
