i recently accomplished a long term goal in my life and for the last 5 years, i've always had the intention of getting a tattoo related to this acheivement as a benchmark. kind of like a reward. my job is white collar so i want to keep it from the prying eyes of employers and clients. i figure that if it is on my bicep, they will only be able to see it if i roll my long sleeves past the elbow, or wear a short sleeve t-shirt. can anyone see any loopholes in my theory? i want it to be visible during my daily personal life, but fully hidden at work. it will be my first tattoo, and i'm taking my time deciding where to put it. does anyone else out there share similar situations that can share some advice with me?

If all you wear at work is long-sleeves, then you might as well. My father had a tattoo on his bicep as well, but during the hot summer months it's a real bitch to be forced to wear long-sleeve button-ups every day. Whatever you choose, congrats on your accomplishment. If I may ask, what was it?

If I wanted a tattoo to be hidden at work, but 100% visible during my daily personal life, I would get tattooed on my...

Sorry, I had to ;)

Hey man - I just had a personal revelation like you and got a half sleeve (kinda). I wear long sleeves to work, and the position I have my tattoo, it's covered even when I'm wearing t shirts (4 inches above the elbow, and covering my shoulder). I'm planning on getting a new tat in the next two months. Good luck! I designed mine and had an artist draw it up for me

it has to do with further education. i'll show you a picture of the tat after i get it, then you'll see. it may be a month or two. i have a pretty busy schedule over the next couple of weeks, so i want to make sure i'm not doing anything so the tattoo can heal nice and i can tend to it properly.

more advice/stories is welcome. i want to hear about other's experiences. i'm in learning mode about tattoos.

Hey Football, Just a little insight that I hope may help.
My Brother is a Tattoo artist and owns his own shop. I have a professional job. I refuse to wear long sleeves to work. What happens on the day when you play golf or any thing that may call for short sleeves? I had him specifically design my tattoos where I can choose or not to show. I have half sleeves, If I wear t-shirts I look like a bandit and proudly display his work.

Your salvation is finding clothes designers that will meet your needs. My tats start 2" above my elbows.
Haggar and Van Heusen are my Favs. They cover everything.

Try to stay away from Tommy. They may cover the first few washes then you reach across the desk for a pen and someone will ask you why starfish are skull fucking.

Well, if you won't post a pic, can we at least know what you accomplished?

Be proud of the work you've done!
