Techna Flora or Humboldt Nutrients??

I am about to switch up my nutes and have decided on a couple of different brands of nutes.

I am either looking at running Humboldt Nutrients Master A/B and their additives or Techna Flora with their additives.

I looked at the feeding charts, and it looks like the Techna Flora is quite a bit cheaper. But I am looking for quality, not to save a few bucks.

Do you think I would have better results with the full line up of Humboldt Nutrients or Techna Flora?

I have also looked into using AN sensi 2 part and most of the additives on their feeding chart too. Minus the benficial bacteria/fungi because I use a different product for that.

Which of these line ups do you think I would have the best results with? Does anyone have any experience with Techna FLora or Humboldt Nutrients?

Any and all input is appreciated.

Bob

na dude. if you want the best quality nutrients at a descent deal, go with DUTCH MASTER GOLD SERIES grow a&b and flower a&b. you really dont need any additives at all like big bud, carbo load or nothing like that if you use this. i promise you, try them and you will be satisfied. try http://www.dutchmaster.com.au/kiss-ass

I was actually looking at the dutch master stuff too. I have heard mixed reviews on them is the only reason I was shying away from them.

what did u hear bad? i have used it for the past 2 cycles. its VERY strong stuff and requires a 20-40mL syringe for mixing. part a goes in stirred followed by b. you'll get it down after a couple of mixes. ph checking and ppm meter is absolutely necessary

I have been using Technaflora nutes and I am very pleased with the results.

Check out my grow journal (Indoors) for my Church and Thai Super Skunk using their B.C. Boost, B.C. Grow, and B.C. Bloom. You can get the "Recipe for Success" and it would easily last you through 2-3 grows (depending on size of course).

Comes with some items that are not completely necessary but I like the samples. The Magical is dope, same with the Thrive Alive, and the Root 66.

DAMN good price too! I think you can get it on ebay for $32 shipped.

Thanks for the replies.

I am mixing 30-40 gallons at a time and growing in soil so I have to water like every 3 days. So I don't think the Recipe for Success would last me too long lol.

I was looking at the Dutch Master line up, and it will cost me about $200 to get through a grow where as the Techna Flora will only cost me like $150. The Humboldt Nutes are going to cost like $275 and AN will cost me like $325.

I am not too worried about $100 extra every 2 months, especially if they yeild more and better weed. I am looking to get the best that I can without breaking the bank. If I have to spend $250 to get myself 2 1/2 lbs or spend $150 and get 2 lbs, then the extra $100 was well worth it. I'm not willing to spend like $500 or anything like that, but around $200-$300 is fine.

I just want to get the best that I can afford.

Damn man, If you are watering with 40 gallons every three days then I hope you get more than 2 lbs.!

That's enough to water a field!

Technaflora has worked for me but I have also heard good things about Dutch Master and Humoldt. For my outdoor grows I have used Fox Farm and was not all that impressed but it was cheap.

20-30 gallons every 3 days for 20-30 plants isn't too bad. They are all in 3gallon pots so they each get about a gallon each.

I used FF stuff for like 2yrs. It was ok, but I liked the Botanicare stuff better. I just used Roots Organics this time around, but I think I am going back to chemical nutes to get the biggest yield I can. I have also used GH 3 part, which worked decent for me.

I like trying new things, so I switch my nutes every so often. Every time I have changed them, I think I get better results. And since I can afford the entire feeding chart of the Humboldt and it seems likea real complete nute program, I think I am going to give it a try. If it sucks, I may give that Dutch Master a try.

My mind is not made up for sure, and I have like 2 weeks before I am actually buying new nutes. So if you have suggestions, please don't hesitate.

My pots don't even drain any water until they have been given 3/4 of a gallon and the other 1/4 gallon is run off. I usually get like 25-40% runoff.

The environment is not hot at all. It runs about 77-83 degrees. I use a lot of beneficials and fulvic/humic acid which increases the water/nute usage of plants because it increases water/nute uptake. Plus the root system is like twice as big as plants without beneficials in the root zone.

You may not actually be watering your plants completely is you are getting run off after only 1/4-1/2 gallon. When soil is dry, especially peat based stuff, it is "hydrophobic". It doesn't like getting wet and will not absorb the water fully.

You need to water with like 1/4-1/2 gallon to moisten the soil, then add a second helping of water in order to ensure proper watering.

If you don't do it this way, you are likely to end up with dry/hot spots in your soil. I learned this while studying for my environmental horticulture degree.

And to the guy who thinks AN nutes are not expensive, sure their base nutes are not too bad. But if you have a look at their feeding chart you will notice that you are spending like $500 and most likely more on their entire nute line up. Their bottles of beneficials are like $100 a liter. While with other brands you can get the entire line up for like $300.

But bad onto the subject. Which of these nutes would you pick?

I have used Advanced nuts for years with great results, this time I am trying Humboldt Nutrients line and I am liking what I see so far I am seeing 1" clusters at 18 days flowering.
what I like the best is right now it looks like I just saved my self about 200.00 a run.

The plants are afghan strain in 5 gal DWC setups with GH hydrofarm dripper kits in 10" net pots with a 1000 watt HPS.

I did notice some thing today, the only plant that I added Humboldt Nutrients Ginormous to kicked trichomes on the leaves around the buds. The rest of the plants do not even show signs of trichomes.
This plants have been in 12/12 since 1/6/10, I am liking this so far.
