Tecnaflora's "recipe for success"

Hello to all! Let me first thank all who post viable info. It is you who share knowledge from experience that teach us that learn from reading.

I have had good results with low maintenance (watering when rain didn't) small (10-20) outdoor grows.

That being said;
I am looking to set up my first indoor "show" and trying to do as much legwork before jumping in.

I have decided on the Ebb & Grow 12 unit system and (2) 1000w HPS lights(may be overkill but better to have light and not need it than need light and not have it). Starting from seed (AMS Master Kush).

Now I need to decide on my "nutes." In the theory of "keep it simple stupid" and due to the vast amount of nutrients on the market. I am very attracted to Technaflora's "Recipe for Success." I am aware the mixing guide will be a little high and I need to start around 1/4 of what is suggested and test the reservoir and go from there. I also know the "suitcase" kit will not supply enough to support my 55 gal. reservoir. i plan to buy bulk of each "nute."

To make a long story even longer. My question is; does anyone have experience with this package? Or even advise based on knowledge of it's contents.

Additional info: 10x10 finished basement grow room, no co2 planned, (2) 250 cfm vent systems, (2) 48" AggroBrite FSF for starting, Temp/Ph/TDC monitor.

Sorry for the winded post just trying to be thorough so less questions need to be asked and more advise can be given. Thanks in advance for any advice, answers or comments.

Thanks Legacy. Maybe you can fill me in a bit. What strain are you growing? What setup do you run, i.e.; soil, hydro, DWC, and so on? What do you keep your EC/PPM/pH levels at during veg/flower stages? Did you germinate or clone? did you use the T.H. B-1 red in week one for foliage feeding? Sorry for all the annoying questions. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Im using the starter kit right now. I started my grow from seeds. i started with the TAR solution @ 1/2 strength and soaked rockwool cubes in it before dropping germinated seeds into them as described in the cutting stage of the recipe for success. I watered the rockwool as needed and when roots poked out the bottoms i transferred them into larger cubes. i prepped the larger cubes the same way as before. roots eventually began to poke out of the bottom of the larger cubes. at this point, i used the TAG solution at 1/2 strength as described in the seedling and transplanting stage. i sprayed this on the plants once. at this time i also used a 1/2 strength solution in my res of the sugar daddy and root 66 for 1min 3x a day. i noticed that one of my plants began to develop brown spots which began on the first set of lower leaves and is now working its way up and turning the leaves yellow. i stopped watering them with that solution and began watering them with phed water only. the plant with the brown spots does not seem to be getting better, but the others seem to be doing well. i plan to introduce the nutes described in the vegetative stage of the recipe for success on saturday at 1/4 the strength. i have a question about the instructions under the seedling and transplanting stage. are each of those solutions supposed to be sprayed ON the leaves or onto rockwool?

Phernando You rock. That was exactly what i was looking for! My understanding of the schedule they out line is, in the first three weeks, the TAR, TAG, and Sugar Daddy/Root 66 mix are all for foliage feeding. Meaning lightly spray the plant only. The heavier Root 66 solution is for your reservoir. This is going to be my first indoor grow. I in no way would try to tell you what to do, but providing a little more info may get a response from a more experienced indoor farmer. Is your watering schedule 1 min. floods 3 times a day? What kind of system are you in? As for your sick baby, it sounds like a bit of nute burn, and it is not getting enough p.H.ed water to repair itself. What kind of growth are you seeing? Again, I am probably talking out of my ass. How "wet" was your rockwool when you introduced the germinated seeds? I appreciate your feed back and look forward to comparing notes in the near future. Keep me posted on your progress. Good luck!!!!

Thank's for the feedback Bikes. Of course I'm going to flow with the annoying questions. What strain did you grow? How long did you veg\flower?did you run into any problems with the "recipe" (other than taste/high) such as deficiency, burn, or growth issues? Do you think your lacking in taste/high was a result of the "recipe" or other factors? As always, thanks for feedback advice.

you can check out my grow journal. i will post some new pics in the next couple of days, but i already have some images posted of the sick plant. i am currently using i drip system similar to the setup in the "Mr Green I grow Chronic" video. have you seen those vids? i am trying out his methods. lets keep in touch to compare notes and progress.

NO problems at ALL, 2 were bag seeds(one was grown before in dirt, so i had an idea how it would be) and spoetnik#1. i vegged for 1 month and flowered for 9 weeks on one of them and 11 on the other two. Have you used this the recipie before?

I took a look at you journal. It looks like you have a good start. I m not experienced enough in the indoor aspect to advise anything for sure but it looks like something to do with your "nutes." whether it's burn or deficiency i couldn't say. Be careful of squeezing rockwool as it will break down it's structure and prevent it from holding water and impede root growth. I have not seen the videos. Are they informative? I definitely want to stay in touch. I am about half way through with setup. waiting on my nutrients order and SEEDS!!! I went with Attitude Seeds; White Widow, Power Skunk, and Phatt Fruity. I should have a journal up in about two weeks or so.

Thanks again. I have never used any liquid nutrients before. All my experience is in outdoor with fortified soil. That is why I am trying to find out about it. I am going to try the "recipe" for it's simplicity and I will let you know how it goes.

any more questions? a lot of nutes are simple to use, but that does not mean they are the good. The ONLY way i would use the recipie for sucess again is if i was growing weed to sell which i am not so that was the last time. GOOD LUCK.....................
