Tell me about Flushing

Need a little clearification. I'm starting the 7th week of 12/12 and things are looking nice. First time here and want to run the final stretch like a champ. I've read about how it's important to flush. Is this just a one time thing right before the harvest or is it a longer process like only giving straight water the last couple weeks?

well im assuming your using some form of soil? In that case you want to water with 3x the pot size.

so a 3 gal pot gets 9 gallons of water

or a 1 gal pot gets 3 gallons get it?

yes,..I'm working with soil. That information is helpful, but "when" do you do it? Is this a one time deal just before harvest or is it how you water it the last two weeks?

I generally do it for about a week everyday with water that's been left out for 24 hours about 3 x the amount the pot will hold, I use final phase to help flush as I'm using advanced nutes overdrive but i usually do one normal flush one overdrive one and so on

putting 4 ft plants in the bath is a bitch tho

When I read the thread title I was just going to say that after you were done taking a leak or taking a dump you reach and push down on the little handle and gravity takes care of the rest but it appears my advice would have been all wrong.

I would say what you have been told is sound advice. Some people like to do it slightly different and some people will say its worth buying bottled water for flushing or using distilled water for flushing and I have read where some people say rainwater is best for flushing but when it comes down to it the difference between any type of water used is most likely negligible and it is only the flushing itself that is of utmost importance.
