Temp and humidity datalogger

Exactly as the title starte. Looking for a reliable data logger to track temp and humidity levels throughout the day. Have your basic one that has min and Max but ideally looking to see how long it's remaining at those min and Max levels so corrective action can be taken if needed be

Not sure off hand but I’m sure amazon has something that would work. To get that kind of data you’d need something simple like a raspberry pi with a temp and a humidity sensor programmed to it and then you could view graphs that way and would be pretty precise and could record indefinitely. Could also hook up a co2 sensor as well if you wanted. With a little computer know how and a cheap pi module you could get it set up pretty easy. Only thing is the sensors and sourcing them. Or making your own..

I've considered this route just not very well versed in those lines of computing. I've found a few solutions but sense is on the cheaper side around $50 but had mixed reviews, and then there is another at $150 with much better reviews but not worth the cost. I was trying to see what others use besides these min max readings to really dial in their grows.

Honestly I don’t think many people go that far into automation with their grows. The min max is usually sufficient. Raspberry pi is the cheapest diy way if you can do the program to do what you’re looking for probably. Honestly I just try to maintain 45-55% veg and 40-50% flower but the built in stat on my dehumidifier works fine. Thought about getting a better more accurate humidistat to dial it in but so far I don’t see the need for that type of precision in my closet.

woah...

well i just setup an arduino based data logger using thinger.io

i learned everything i needed from their documentation within 24 hours and got it working. It's pretty much a dashboard that keeps a record of all the sensor readings with the time (say humidity and temperature) and shows them as a graph along with the current reading.

i got it working for free, and all you need is knowhow of how to use and program an arduino (with wifi (i got the mkr1000)), and a few sensors. everything else is free, and openly available

Any links to said info. I'm pretty handy and if it's spelled out rather easy I can figure most things out being an engineer, but programming is totally foreign to me.

I have a environmental controller running my ventilation and dehumidifier altho at times I'm seeing sightly High Rh and temps. Ideally I'd like to know how long those periods are are my main concerns. If it's for 3-5 min no big deal but extended periods I'd be a bit more concerned.

I like automation as it keeps things simple. Then I can tweak settings to achieve desired results.

I do automation for a living so I know all about it. I love controls. Just moved my setup to my garage and built a 5x5 room out of some left over wood and conduit. I’ve got a Emerson E2 controller I’m going to use to monitor temps and control lights and fans etc. I’ll wire up a few sensors and the relays to control my equipment and monitor temps tomorrow before lights out. So far the new room is working good though. I’ll post some pics of the controller when it’s up and running.

SensorPush is what you want. Best one I found.
Have you used one. All the reviews I've read for this type of application are saying it doesn't work well. For $50 Id be willing to try it out but I want it to work, otherwise I'd rather be putting that 50 to something more stable. I've found a few that aren't realtime readable but more for refrigerated trucks to monitor food temps during transport that measure temp and humidity for extended periods of time up to a week and then dl via USB.

They work excellent. Have had mine for about 10 months. Anywhere I am (with basestation) I can check the temp and humidity of the rooms. Can set hi/low temp/humidity alarms. really a great way to dial in your rooms. Best tool I own for monitoring my grow. By themselves they are Bluetooth.

There’s tons of automated controls like you’re wanting. Personally I’d go with a wired connection and stay away from wireless. You’ll get faster more accurate display as well as readings. This is what I’m using to graph temps through the day. Hook a cat6 to it and link through my router and I can remote in through ultrasite and see my room data. Also setting up some night owl security cameras so I can see inside the tent when it’s closed as well as around the garage itself. I’ll post pics when it’s all set up.

I have a La Cross sensor system that links to my phone via wifi. I think it only keeps 24 hours or so of data but seems to have what you're looking for. Can add multiple sensors for multiple readings in same or different rooms/tents.

Picks below are what the app look like on the phone.

I do controls for a living and had all this laying around but this is a beefed up version of what you want. Could do the same thing with a pi and some sensors

Graphs look like this. Getting temps dialed in but it’ll log indefinitely so I can see temps for the entire cycle.
