hey guys, im having a problem with my temps...

i have a 1m x 1m and 2m high box i built myself. inside it i have a 600w light and i have a 4inch inline fan and filter and an oscillating fan.

the problem is without the fans on temps are 90f-91f and with them on it only drops to about 87f

i have the inline fan suckin air through the filter and blowing out of the box all at the top where the hot air should rise too?? can anyone help me??

ok thanks chem dawg, that means im gonna have to invest in another inline fan?? should i expect significant results with seperate intake and exhaust systems??

not results but the temps will be easier to control mate..
I'd with a rvk 125 as your intake and maybe think about increasing your extraction..

if its a sealed system have your cold air in goin to bottom of box and hot air exiting out of the side on top cant see a problem unless its not a sealed unit,
IMO i would invest in another exhaust fan no need to put it on the air side think of it as a vacum cleaner all you might need is to make another air in vent

ok yeah thats what meant lol, what about my box? does it have to be air tight or as close to? because atm there is a gap at the bottom which i left there for the extractor fan to suck air in through or at least that was the idea.

how do i view the video you mentioned? you got a link and thanks for the help much appreciated :)

dr fever you answered my question as i was typin it thanks
just make sure your box is sealed
thinking its not and exhaust fan is working twice as hard if you have your exhaust fan above your light thats not as good as right beside the light you might have to lower your exh vent close to where light is forcing heat out if you got two 3 or 4 " air vent holes on the bottom on each corner then run that aluminum ducting around all for corners of your box back to other air vent like then buy some pvc T's and join it to the ducting this giving air in every corner or cut out holes in ducting which ever hopes that helps ya gl m8

hey guys, im still tryin to lower my temps.

ive made my box as sealed as possible and ive put two 8" oscillating fans in there 1 near the light and one at the bottom, moved my filter to near where the light is!!

its only slightly helped, and i think the 4" extractor fan i have just isnt good enough!!

so what im gonna do next is get another one 6" or bigger, but what i want to know is if i use the bigger fan for an intake and bring 'fresh' air in and continue to use the 4" as the extractor would that help or should i use the bigger fan for an extractor and the smaller for an intake?

Glad I could be of assistance :) a lot depends too on the temp of the air you're pulling in, my air is drawn from outside so I have to watch depending on what the weathers like. & I'm on 18/6, and I religiously turn on a bigger fan outside of my grow box to cool the whole room down to mimic night time temperature drops

Temperature and Humidity

The ideal temperature for the light hours is 68 to 78 degrees fahrenheit and for the dark hours there should be about a 15 degree drop in temperature. The growing room should be relatively dry if possible. What you want is a resinous coating on the leaves and to get the plant to do this, you must convince it that it needs the resinous coating on its leaves to protect itself from drying out. In an extremely humid room, the plants develop wide leaves and do not produce as much resin. You must take care not to let the temperature in a dry room become too hot, however, since the plant cannot assimilate water fast enough through its roots and its foliage will begin to brown out.

I have just make a finishing of this thread.... :D
