You can turn it down if you need to. It's been in the 80"s here in Portland. 84F today. I turned mine down in the flower tent from 600 - 400 last night. I'm still exhausting into the garage where my tent is. I checked on the plants in the middle of the night and it was 86F in the tent. I have another duct coming through the top of the tent that vents through the attic and outside but I haven't switched over yet. I wasn't expecting this heatwave. But it's supposed to drop down to 60F this Tuesday.

If you were running LED id say you are good, LED likes higher temps. Sorry, guess that wasn't helpful either. I'm on a Roll! Maybe I should find a different thread...

My temps are getting to 34c due to the heat wave we are getting in the UK, anyways I only just realized I have digital dimable ballasts , week 1.5 in veg , can I dim them to 400 on veg to pass this heatwave and back to 660 during flower thanks
Gotta love the good old British weather

Wasn't being mean lol , just don't find it helpful laughing at my problems/worrys , apologies to any offence I may have caused, I have always had my thermometer on canopy line and done pretty well , maybe iv been wrong , just honestly wish I didn't even run this crop, might even bin it all and wait till after summer lol iv got 9 plants , 7 purple dawg 5 of which are older than the other two and two mixed aged gelato 44 seedlings
Ok number 1.

All those plants don’t need 1320w to light them up.

number 2 this is where I place my thermometer. See behind the plants at canopy level but out of direct light!

Temps are perfect right now View attachment 4560901

Also wanted to check but are you revegging some of your plants?

As in started flowering and then switched back to veg?

or taken clones from a flowering plant?

some of your leaves are losing their serrated edges and looking a a little whonky! Kind of like when they reveg after being flowered.

Number one thank you for your advice ,
And I'll put a second temp gauge exactly where yours is and see if that reading is.much different, yes all 7/9 plants (purple dawg) are clones taken during week two of flower , I find they explode compared to taking during veg, they do look a little f**ked untill I get them into flower , but it really works well for me , last grow I got 38oz from 3 plants in 2sqm with two lights on , I'll attach a photo of what they looked like shortly into flower , and yes I agree I don't need that much light to veg, force of habit

Air cooled hoods mate. shave off 1/3rd of the heat out the room instantly.

Attic rooms are always a bit more difficult.

I would get a few of those newer cooltubes which have the benefit of no resistance or turbulence but also have a full sized hood over them. Rather than them shit ones with a tin hat which don't give a good footprint.

May I add that last grow I had 3 in bubble pots and 6 in soil , (soil was nowhere near as good )

That’s fine then. So you’re monster cropping.

I was only highlighting a possible issue but you know exactly why It’s happening which is all good man.

ha ha yeah about the weather. It’s about 10C outside today lol.

I use a fan speed controller on my room so even if temps change outside it runs my room the same but like I said I only run a 400w (I used to run a 600w with sun systems XXXL blockbuster hood)

If you want to create a setup that will work regardless of outside temps let me know as I can and have designed similar rooms utilising air cooled hoods, fan speed controllers, AC, Co2 enrichment, seperated exhaust and light cooling etc etc.

keep us posted with any changes you make but ultimately unless you’re running 3x600w or more in the UK then there’s usually no need to use AC.

You can link all 4 of them up in the same air circuit with a filter on the end of the first and duct between each leading to the extraction.

Air cooled hoods ain't that good IMO, I tried a grow with them once and they don't have as much light to spread around IMO, the glass in the shades needed to be perfect clean or lumins were just lost/wasted , plus there bulky and have a fan connecting all 4 up was just too much bother lol ,

Feel like I'm talking to a different person from last night lol great advice lol, I would be greatly happy to hear some advice on how to control temps better , if weather's nice I can usually handle it, but when the *heatwaves come lmao I get scared , I do a LOT OF lst to get my plants huge , I'll show ya one of my favs

Well I grew with them in a 2mx2m with 3 lights for 7 years and it was the difference between able to run 2 bare or 3 air cooled.
That was with an 8" airforce2 fan. In almost identical circumstances as your room and I only ever had to put my fan on top speed in the worst heat waves.

What would you rather do, run 400s or run 600s with glass?
If you cant control two 600s now when we aren't even in proper summer yet how you going to run 4x 600s in the same space when its warmer.

My extraction is pretty good , my attic room gets too hot when it's warm outside , I built a box and placed my filter in there and my fan out the outside of the box and cut a hole in the box with a tube directly to the tent while the fan exhausts into the chimney, I have aircooled lights I just can't get on with them thanks

I'm investing in a ac unit for my tent , plus I have slightly changed the design and set of up my grow this time so I'm still tweeking it a bit , thankfully star dawg is a very forgiving strain , I currently have all my heat in one place , when the 4 lights go on I'll be using my 8inch inlet fan and with AC , extra oscillating fan, just waiting on a ac unit, mean time all I have is the air cooler which is kinds helping

What do you mean you put a filter in a box?

I get boxing a fan in to lessen the noise but can you explain the filter a bit more?

Also 3 lights in a 2mx2m tent isn't enough for what I want , I'm looking at 90oz or 2.5kg minimum from this grow

The carbon filter is big and bulky and sucks air through it and makes noise , I built a mdf box and placed it side ways, attached fan onto side of it and exhausted that into chimney , then simply cut a 12in hole in the box to go directly to my tent , the hot air from the tent goes into the box, through the filter and out through the fan outside

Yeah I wasn't suggesting it was, I was saying I could run 3 with an 8" fan in the same circumstances purely because they were air cooled.
