Temps too high 30-34c , hot right now in the UK ,

What do you mean you put a filter in a box?

I get boxing a fan in to lessen the noise but can you explain the filter a bit more?
Yeah I don’t get that bit either unless he’s exhausting into the filter rather than sucking through it?

@Twokz could you elaborate a little.

Also FYI all air cooled reflectors are not created equal.

that’s why cool tubes are £20 and the XXXL blockbuster I had was £175 lol

The carbon filter is big and bulky and sucks air through it and makes noise , I built a mdf box and placed it side ways, attached fan onto side of it and exhausted that into chimney , then simply cut a 12in hole in the box to go directly to my tent , the hot air from the tent goes into the box, through the filter and out through the fan outside
This is the box I'm talking about lol

So your tent has Ducting from the tent to the box and inside the box is your filter ducted to a fan then to outside?

Almost keeping your box as a semi lung room for exhausting?

That’s possibly causing you some extra heat issues.

Yeah that pretty much sums up my box thing, it isn't really that hot around the fan /box tbh

No but you’ve added extra ducting and restrictions on your exhaust system causing a drop a pressure from your fan and filter combo.
Yeah I may have slightly, but the exchange rate of air in the tent is more than enough for 4 lights trust me , it's the heat from the attic roof I struggle with , when it's hot outside its hot in the room the tent is in , cold and it's freezing , may I add I have neighbours that are police lol and the fan/filter is almost silent and smell proof

For a 2m tent it is plenty , I had to use a bigger inlet tube because of the amount of negative pressure, the tent was sucking it that bad it was going to break the poles haha
Im presuming that’s a rhino fan controller?

A fan controller is only as good as the air system in place.

A fan controller controls the temps when you’re able to run too cold!

Just trying to help you control your heat a little more but whatever we’re suggesting you’re saying isn’t going to work but then the theory behind grow room setup doesn’t change just because you adjusted your setup.

I’m glad your temps are under control.

I hope running your AC works out for you.

90oz from 2x600w would be some good going if you can. I’ve seen yields that high and more using 1800w but never 2x600 especially those that are experiencing temp issues already when ambient outside temps hit 20C.

if you want to redesign let me know after this grow is finished And I’ll help you control heat.

Bare in mind if you add AC to your grow while you’re exhausting you’ll in effect be cooling the air using 900-2000w of AC to exhaust it all out of your grow 1x-3x a minute.

Keep us posted and we’ll help where we can.

I'm taking all suggestions on board mate, but for all sorts of reasons my extraction is as good as it gets, took a very long time making it as silent and as good as I have it currently, iv been working with no inlet fan or intake from outside , I do really appreciate everything you guys have suggested, like I have said previously I usually skill summer grow but this year I thought why not (with the lockdown still in force ) fingers crossed my ac unit works and I will be making a cold air intake either by cutting a 8inch hole tjrought the floor to my old inlet hole in the bath room , or by sending it tjrought the roof tiles , I have done a summer grow before at 42c for 6 weeks in flower and got major foxtail , but it still worked , so maybe I should just do what I can and accept it is what it is

This is my fan and filter combo and placement.

I use a fan and filter capabale of controlling a 1000w On my 400w setup with an SMS FAN SPEED CONTROLLER.

*edit - yes that’s a 250w cfl (my Early veg light Which I then switch for 400w MH later to 400w HPS)

And there's no fan controller , it's just on full speed , luckly star dawg don't mind the big drops in temps night and day , but my I add I have a plug in fan controller, I use the lights at 660 when cold , 600 when too hot etc

And my room is directly above my front door and you hear nothing.

granted it’s not the size fan you run that’s for sure as it’s an RVK150A1.

I'd prefer to have my fan and filter in that position, but in my tent there just isn't enough room and it's loud , so I thought outside the box by putting it in a box , do you grow in a room and not a tent ? I struggled bad before I got my tent

Yes I grow in a walk in storage space above my stairs.

it’s 7x3.3x8 feet.

I actively use 3.3x3.3 as my foot print.

my plants don’t grow over 3ft tall and they’re elevated up off the floor about 10” so I can catch runoff.

Exhausting tjrought the filter , the fan is pulling air through the filter to the chimney

That's cool man , my plants typically get to 30inch or so
