This man is not gay.

Something tells me he'll be going viral if he isn't already. Lots of samples could be ripped from this guy.

I'm somewhat embarrassed that this guy represents the government of my state.

Seems like we have one district in particular that keeps sending in crazy ass mofo's to our statehouse.

It won't pass.

But it's not the first time we've had to deal with retarded legislation here

Or as they'd really say in Tennessee, "you be one them queer-do-sexuals".

If the Jack Daniels factory shut down, would Tennessee be known for anything other than bigotry?

Tennessee is a very unique state. When you get northeast of Knoxville, you may as well be in West Virginia. Chattanooga is like all of the nice people from Atlanta moved there. Memphis is cultural rich, hit Bourbon street and you'll hear some of the best music you've ever heard live from people you don't know (but your car will most likely get broken into). Nashville is becoming the hub of the south. The professional sports are booming, it seems all of the corporate hospital conglomerates have moved HQ there, Brentwood is amazing with some of most beautiful homes and land I've seen.

So it's weird. You can't really pigeon hole the state, each corner is different, then the middle has it's own quirks.

Nashville's growth has outpaced it's roads. If I had a major bitch about the city that would be it.

If I had to guess where the legislator that penned this bill was from I would say northeast corner, Union countyish. It could really be anywhere, see some of the crazy bills coming out of MI these days, but that's my guess.

Northeast Tennessee is rural, but it isn't as backwards as you let on.

Actually the guy is from the empty hinterlands between knoxville and Nashville.

East Tennessee dominates the state politically. Sure Memphis and Nashville are the bigger cities, but nothing outside of them.

East Tennessee has knox and chatt and up in the north east corner you have the tri cities.

The "plateau " region I was talking about is much more rural.

East tn is heavily populated, relatively outside of the cities. With a lot of big small towns.

Basically the entire stretch of the northern border from church hill west of Kingsport along the Kentucky border is retarded. As is the space between knox and chatt from Lenoir city to just east of Nashville.

But you have a nice famaliarity with the state. Nashville is bad ass place to go.

Nashville is where my corp HQ are, so I get to visit quite often for training. (Actually Brentwood).

I lived in Marysville, that's where my opinion of the northeast came from. Years ago, before school I worked on kingston Pike. BTW, comparing it to WV was not meaning to be a put down. I like WV. I just felt like I was in the Appalachians surrounded by mountain people. Weird, but I have family in Pigeon Forge and it doesn't feel that way there, but it's touristy.

Memphis is awesome. I play some of the WSOP and WPT events in Tunica and always make it up to Memphis. I try to take a cab. Walking Beal street is like walking the strip in Vegas in a way, but more "real" if you know what I mean.

Just a guess on the bill. Thanks for the info.

People will say lol south, because that's what bigots do who have never lived there, but my home state of MI just passed a "don't have to save the gay boy if you don't wanna" bill.

I have only been to Memphis a couple of times. Been to Nashville a lot.

I live in one of the large small towns orbiting knoxville.

You're right, north and east of here does feel a little different. Union county is backwards. But nothing like Morgan or Cumberland county. Union county is where we get all of our good weed. There and Cocke.

You ever been to Greeneville?

It's about 60 miles NE of knox. It's an old money small town. Home of Andrew Johnson.

It's a very old money town. Best agricultural in the area. Old slave town I guess. But it's got a lot of really cool stuff for a town of that size. And several very wealthy philanthropic families. Niswonger foundation, he builds lots of children's hospitals.

I had to be real close to there Smokey.

I was 60 miles from Knoxville, NE.

I took the Marysville exit off of 640 (I think, it's been 20 years) and went north about 20 miles. I felt like I was in the middle of nowhere, but it was where the In-laws lived. Yeah, Union county, you were right.

Good people there though. No pretense like I've run into in Nashville.

There are good people in Nashville too, but I found out I work with a lot of posers. Lotta money in that region and my folks seem to pretend to be in that category. We are not even close :).

There isn't a Maryville exit off of 640. There is a Maynardville up that way.

Maryville takes its exit off of what used to be Pellissippi parkway, I think it's called 240 or 140 now. It connects Maryville (to the south in Blount county) to Oak Ridge (Anderson county) in the north.

Right past oak ridge is Morgan County and nothing. But oak ridge is nice.

You probably went to maynardville.

Greeneville is up I 81. If you're ever back let me know and if you want a good meal I'll tell you about a place called The Farmers Daughter. Family style food, best fried chicken I've ever had.

Will do, and Maynardville sounds familiar. I 81 sounds familiar too. I would have to ask the ex, and it's not really worth the trouble.

I remember a lot of Orange vans, trucks and garage doors. I was there the year Manning was a freshman 3rd stringer (eventual starter that year) if that tells you anything.

1994, remember it well. He actually started out 4th string. Behind Todd Helton of the Colorado Rockies. Then a black qb named Copeland who got hurt early vs UCLA. And there were 2 freshmen. Manning and a guy named Brandon Stewart.

The fans liked Stewart better. But he transferred to A&M after the season.

Back then Tennessee was really good. Top 5 team year in and out. Everything was orange.

But yeah, maynardville is in the direction of Union County.

Do you remember bean station?

Wow, great memory.

Yep, Helton was the senior that got hurt. Copeland got hurt. I think Stewart started ahead of Manning a few games and got hurt too.

I remember not liking Manning's personality at all. He's since won me over. My wife was an Alabama fan, fun times 3rd saturday.

I don't remember Bean station. But I used to work at Rice Chevy/Olds on Kingston Pike. I hope it's not still there, Buck will try to find out shit about who all worked there in 94.

Haha yeah he would do that.

Rice is a name I know in the car business. There is still a rice I think.

I don't know if Stewart got hurt or not. They alternated him and manning for a while and I remember manning just winning over the coaches.

Yeah, manning will always be loved for dominating Alabama. We lost in 94, barely. But we went down there in 95 and beat the fuck out of them. Manning to Kent first play of the game for a 70+yard td. That set the tone for the game.

Tee Martin isn't remembered as fondly despite winning a national title. But I was at his "perfect game" in 98 against South Carolina. 24 of 24 or something like that.

I miss those days. I think Butch Jones might get us back. Derek Dooley was a retard but I see him on the sidelines when I watch the Cowboys. I think he is their wide receiver coach.

You guys should have found a way to make Cutcliff work.

As a Michigan Alum, I am very familiar with your feelings right now.

Cutcliff is a good coach, what he did at ole miss and now duke is impressive.

Timing I think is the reason we didn't consider him.

Fulmer was fired in 10. Cut went to duke in 09 I think.
