3 - The Cali Connection Raskal OG (1 cut is from a club the other 2 are from a friend and are supposedly 2 different phenos?) Curious to see how they all compare.

If you followed my last journal I pulled 1lb and 1.6 ounces off 7 plants with a 1000w.I wanted to go with a 600w and better reflector to help with having to battle the heat all the time and also save on electricity.I bought a new 600w Lumatek the other day and plugged it in and it lasted 5 minutes.I brought it back and exchanged it for the quantum 600w dimmable which the owner recommended in the first place.Fired right up and works great.
The challenge for me on this grow is managing the different growing/feeding characteristics of the different strains.I am hoping to pin down the select few that I plan on making permanent for awhile.I ran the Kushberry last time and I really like how it came out so I am doing that one again.I would have run a few of the other but I did not have access to the clones in time.

I encourage and appreciate all comments,suggestions and discussions related to the topic at hand.

The Kushberry's are growing fast.Sour Og not far behind.Almost 2 weeks in for those. The rest are about a week from clone.The Raskal's are slow to take.Burned a little at first from the hot OF soil but I think they are starting to come around and will be ready to rock shortly.No nutes yet.Loving this reflector!!!

Can there possibly be any more ridiculous names floating around California in regards to OG? this shits just getting out of hand.Fire OG, Obama OG,Malibu OG, HELLS ANGEL OG??!!For the record I have a few DNA strains going and the Cataract is Dank.Might just have to join the OG circus though,cross it with a purple wreck and call it Purple Starfish OG or some shit and tack on an extra 20 bucks.fkn ridiculous

nobodys saying OG isnt bomb-its Dank.The OG circus out here is hilarious though.Headband,Skywalker OG etc-those are all dank hybrids. Alot of the shit thats floating around SoCal though seems like the same SFV cut given different names by growers trying to make their mark.Theres a new one every day

Yeah I totally agree about the OG thing here.It is getting out of hand for real.You go into a club and they claim they have 20 different OG's from red,blue,norcal,socal,SVG,Tahoe,this and that whatever they just put OG on it and expect it to sell regardless of quality.I swear if they have something that is not moving the next day they call it "OG____" raise the price a few and every kid thinks its the bomb OG...lol.This is why I only go to a select clubs and grow my own.
Every closet hack out there is ripping strains off and labeling it something else to make a name for themeselves.Whatever makes you happy I guess.Its funny they all say their OG is the same too....pure lemony kerosine fuely,chemy fire....lol...yeah...ok.

I honestly don't care what anyone calls it or who claims it is their strain.All I care about is how it turns out,smokes,tastes and effects me.

MMM I like those strains also...I have noticed I have turned into a bit of an OG head.The other strains just don't do it for me anymore like a good OG does.Blue dream one of my favorite sativas.Friend just harvested that.Jack Herer also..mmmm.A few cuts I got from a friend and the rest I got from a club.

Nice 600w. I always have liked lumateks, but I hear so much bad stuff. Galaxy's seem like the way to go. Im in for the ride. Good to see you back around!

Thanks man.Yeah I was really hoping that the lumatek would work out.Something I learned though is that the Quantum ballast is the only one that is FULLY compliant with part 18 of FCC rules.This struck me as odd.He (owner of a major hydro store)said lumatek changes design so much and they are not fully FCC approved.As I am paying for the lumatek he is telling me this.....and that he would lean to the quantum....then the lumatek before anything else..geez.So after I got home and the lumatek worked for 5 minutes I brought it back.When he tested it in the store the thing popped/exploded when he plugged it in.....stunk of burnt shit....lol and this is in the Hydro store...Immediatley I was thinking of what a damn fire hazard this thing could be.Especially since it is not fully FCC approved.I told him I wanted to switch to the Quantum.Was just worried about the built in fan.Told me not to worry he runs the same ones and that they are solid so he swapped me out for a 600w Quantum Dimmable Ballast.Thing works great so far.Fires up quick.Runs cool.Dimmable feature works good.Fan is very very quiet Nothing to even worry about considering its right by 2 4" fans and a 6" lol....Will give an update to its performance once I have it longer.
Super happy so far with the 600 vs the 1000 as far as the heat goes.Can get light closer.I think the heat difference and the new blockbuster reflector is going to narrow the gap between the 600 and 1000.Excited to see!!!!!

Sounds like a ruckus.... I think with a little effort you could pull the same weight as before.

Word.Been running their LA Con for awhile now and its dank.Cant go wrong with DNA-been trying to order kushberry for awhile but theyre always out of stock

Yeah..gotta love DNA gear.I ran the Kushberry and LA CON last grow and they came out great.LA is a pretty slow vegger and not a super high yielder.Dense dense nuggets with a great taste and smell.Going with the Kushberry again though with Cataract thrown in.

true-what phenos did you have of the LA? we ended up with the two compact phenos and one that stretches quite a bit but fills out through bloom and yields alot more than the compact ones.I asked the DNA dudes about it since they only list two phenos on the descrip. and they said its out there but uncommon. Not a huge yielder,I think the best ones were a little under 2.5 per plant in 5 gallons(soil),but super dense and threw out more than the single cola, compact LA phenos..So far the cataracts look very similar to the compact LA's-was expecting some more sativa looking leaves cus of the OG X, but theyre super fat bushy indicas.looked at the caliconnection.Whats up with all the different OG's?they just made different hybrids and sell seeds through europe?

I had the slow growing short dense pheno. Loved it. Expecting the cataract to grow faster. Will see. Yeah they have a few good og's. You can order there seeds online to ship anywhere and you can get them everywhere here in cali. Seeds or original clones. Where u located?

I have LA Woman. Not one of the strains I am super stoked about..... What is the backround of LA Con? Im not sure of what LA Woman is.
How is the HA OG going. The OG Garden...... I like it....

La Woman ( La Con x Martian mean green) mainly indica. Suprised you don't like. DNA has some killer strains. Check it out at dnagenetics.com
LA Confidential ( og afghan from Venice beach CA x pure afghan male) knockdown floorboarding high. Love it. Close to 100% indica. Honestly I'm dissapointed with the HA OG. The first one I recieved as clone with no roots. Didn't take and died. Got another one and it is also so slow to take. Not the highest of hopes for this one either. Heard it is a great yielder though. Will have to see but not counting on it!!

The OG garden. Haha. I like the sound of that.

I haven't flowered the LA woman, it is still young. I have my mind on Kandy Kush and Kandy Kush X Skunk(another OG C.........). Also have Super Lemon Haze, the church, and white widow. Looking forward to them. Brings my strains up to 15. Been a lot to keep going.....

word. ill check them out.would be nice to get a higher yielding OG cross. DNA claims the cataract kush puts out double the LA i believe, so well see. Im in SoCal
