Ok let me rephrase that. He didn't buy shitty panels like you did so he's actually getting production.

Seriously, I'll even link you

I think everyone knows you can grow with leds, Its just that there not that good for yielding a high amount of return bud wise.. I save the last word for you ColoradoLove as I'm sure you will have it..

Yea i see what fssalaska is saying. They work they just dont work like the majic everyone kinda makes them out to be. This is kinda what i was going to figure. So looks like if i see and read right and my head works MH is the way to go for veg and the leds are just kinda a plus and still help some?

Stuff looks great they are digging the mh and led combo looks like. Keep this thread goin.

I payed for them so I'am going to try to keep them working for the hell of it , I'm sure they will not hurt anything can only help... I just switched from veg MH to the HPS for my flowering, this is my first auto grow can't wait to see how it turns out..

I guess Im not tacking how this grow is going.. LEDs are not performing?
There not real bad, but I did notice they were not doing as good as the MH lights so to not end up with crap I ended the test and added 2 more MHs and what the hell I left the LEDs in there, more light the better.

you want that blackstar no more than 5" from canopy, it will only take 4 of those pots to 12", probably only 3 to full maturity. you trying to cover too many sq ft with only 160w real watts being drawn, then stating it not measuring up to your usual 400w - no surprise. learn how to use them right and results are v good.

I know how to use them but they suck, I have it higher so some of my HPS light can sneak in there, If the blackstar was at 5" I would not have any coverage, $250 dollars for a 240 watt blackstar thats really a 160 watt and says 3 feet x 3 feet coverage when you buy it on the BS lying website, but really if your lucky maybe 1 foot x 1.5 foot coverage at 8" what total shit .. Only fit for maybe a 1 plant grow in mama's shoe closet..

Just with the blackstars or with every LED you hear its all bad when it comes to flowering....
Its mainly the older models that have appeared to given that bad name for flowering...
So far most of these led grow have them go all the way through and they appear pretty good results.

See still using them as fill lighting, I don't think there total shit just WAY OVER PRICED for what they are and what they do.
Also If I was going to buy any LEDs ever again it would not be the sunshine UFOs as there 2 band and weak 85% rating on my shitOmeter The Blackstar seems to work good but the coverage sucks it would take 3 of them to cover what one 400 watt MH dose, So I give them a 40% rating on my shitOmeter.

pretty sure it says 4 square feet on their site not 3x3...so thats 2x2 which seems pretty accurate from the grows I've seen with them. LTR.

These blackstars are great for small hidden steath grows with autoflowers or small clones where you can keep the plants small and close to the canopy in a small space. Also alot more red then blue with blackstar compared to the mh for veg . The blackstar draws about 140 watts not the advertized 240 watt. So your getting a whopping 280 watts for the 2 blackstars.

You know that blackstar has two different 240 watt models one for flowering and one for vegging right? i believe yours is the flowering model. and the actual watt pull is only 130 so your looking at almost 1/4 the power cost...

I am new to this forum so I know my opinion wont be very credible, but I have seen some amazing grows with led lights from veg to flower. You just have to adjust your grow style if your use to using mh/hps.

One thing to always remember when growing with led lighting, is to adjust the light during the grow cycle, always keeping the light just inches from the tip of the plant. Scrog grows do exceptionally well with leds in small, confined spaces. Too many people downplay leds, due to poor results during the R&D phase of led grow lights. They certainly have come a long way the past few years. The biggest advantage of the lights are the super low energy cost, and minute amount of heat produced, so colling is not an issue. Also, leds promote shorter, bushy plants, so they are ideal for grow chambers, grow boxes, and closet grows. As the prices continue to fall, more and more people will experiment with led lighting, and make their own decision from there. Happy growing! :blsmoke:
