Testing Timber's prototype=4000k/660nm and my finger on the flower trigger:)

Do you remember my dear brother ,what exactly I've been supporting about 660 nm deep red radiation ?
That alone,by itself ,has more cons ,rather than pros ..
It needs some ..Far Red radiation along with to be "effective " ...
I've mentioned that some years ago ...
Well ,it seems that even the "white collars " at Osram realised that ,by now ...
Old news ....For me ,at least ...

And BTW ...
@PurpleBuz
The above graph you've posted ....
These curves are photon weighted ....
And as you already know ,the larger the wavelength ,the more photons per Joule.
Try the energy weighted ones and you will see clearly ,why I prefer 630-640 nm red leds ,over the 660 nm ones.
Or ask about it , the Apache Tech folks ...

Keep up the good work ,Psu.
The fixture seems awesome .
Just be patient.

Cheers.

And something else dear brother Psuagro.
By now I've switched over to 100% organic fertilising .
I use mainly composted nettle leafs (Urtica spp ), an organic fertiliser from Germany ( NaturDunger mit Guano )
and an A-W-E-S-O-M-E greek 100% plant derived aminoacid product ( Amino16 ).

This plant is 37 days old (1st day was the day the seed popped-up from substrate ).
Under 250 Watt of VERO 29s ...

Ain't that great for a 37 days plant ? (Dark Devil Autoflowering, from Sweet Seeds )
Althought I'm having some issues with pH imbalance...:?
Organic ferts+ Aminoacids +LEDs do wonders on Cannabis plants !
My advice and suggestion : Try to find a decent aminoacid fertiliser.
You won't believe your own eyes, with the results ...
Trust me on that one ...
;-)

Cheers.
:peace:

oh stardust. so cryptical!

tell us more about 630s vs 660s+730s (or a link if youve already discussed it here)

thanks
" so cryptical " ?
You must be confusing me with somebody else ...

@stardustsailor You're going to start a whole side debate (war) on PSUAGRO's thread! Amino acids? Really???? Have you made a complete 180 in your grow style? What happened man??
180° turn in my whole way of living ,brother ...

Eat no sugar, salt ,white flour and meat ..
Quited drinking and smoking ...
( Switched to vaping and e-cigs ,actually ...)
Thinking of gettin' married and startin' a family ...
Moved to new house ...
Kinda ...Reborn ,I may say ..
I saw the "light " ,brother ..

Why I should keep on growing with mineral nutes ?
Yield ,taste and potency are so much better with organics ...
I'm a true " believer " ,by now ...

(Crap ! ...Next thing would be to switch over to monos ? :o
...Nah ...White is here to stay ... )

Cheers.

Great info @stardustsailor ,
I don't wan't to derail this post so maybe you could at some point start a discussion on amino acid ferts?

Something like this?
http://store.americanhydroponics.com/AminoActin-Chelating-Agent-p/88080.htm

There is a lot of "mystery" and "secret" ingredients in the USA in fertilizers when it comes to those sorts of things.
Can we squash and ferment some soy beans and make our own? lol

i meant a tease... on the 630 vs 660

i agree with you on everything else. no meat or trans fats for over 20 years here

processed food is the devil

My dear SDS:wink:, osram cares about selling their 451/ 660/730nm horti chips, nothing more. Dr lopez's work influenced the v2 flower spectra............."mint white" was added for improving general plant inspection, not the spd=== osram's words.

Apache uses 630nm because nichia doesn't make a high powered 660nm?not sure, too lazy to check...........I disagree that you absolutely need 730nm for 660nm to be effective, my zelion runs showed it worked fine imo...

Do you know where plant derived Amino-acids also exist?====== IN PLANTS,lol...........I till in all my cannabis trimmings and use plant based ferts, don't need it...........and chem programs won't benefit either

what's a ph imbalance?:eyesmoke:.......worst thing you can do with LOS/ROLS is dry it out, other than that it's idiot proof with clean water....won't yield like hydro/chem, never will======don't care, knew that going in.

So the fact that you are running an auto with a long light cycle and guano based nutrients(fast release) isn't the reason for the vigorous growth? the aminos are?come on.......

Wow, I can do no sugar, no bleached flour, BUT NO SALT! fuck that...........I'm not going my whole life with bland food to gain a couple of years.............not worth it imo

good luck on the marriage/kids thing SDS, wish you the best

You'll be back...
He probably will:mrgreen:

to be clear I like a big fat wide peak from ~600 all the way to 670.

photon weighted or energy weighted doesn't matter to me as much as plant photosynthesis weighted.

so I take a typical warm white phosphor cob and add some 660s to widen and fill out. The warm white phosphor has almost enough 700nm+ waves for emerson effect.

Finally some nice and warm weather here, I'm in the mood for a falafel, love that shit...................Sunday update and then go eat under the sun.

Round 1 Day 20 of 14/10 from seed under Timber's proto cree cxb 4000k/660/730nm fixture(322w)=== with my 3 NL/God bitches.

001.JPG 002.JPG 005.JPG 004.JPG "one of these girls is not like the others", lol.......F2 hybrid fun, calling her Roxanne and putting on the red/660nm light!. Hitting their stride now, slight smell coming from them too. Should be showing me girly parts any day now; 730nm is working correctly.....checked multiple times.

003.JPG 006.JPG 007.JPG ........turned on the exhaust(low) and circulation fan, seem happy..........look pale in the pics due to the spectra and camera sensor flipping all over.

Oh poor Roxanne

where is that skinny guy's voice coming from?god damn

be safe and happy growing RIU

I know you mentioned it in one of your posts, what brand is your temp, humidity, Co2 monitor?

You don't want it, and it has been discontinued for awhile now.........probably cause of the fact that it doesn't have a fucking battery backup! sooooooooooo shittttyyyy

puff's meter is what you want, plus it has a ten year sensor

http://www.amazon.com/Indoor-Air-Quality-Meter-Temperature/dp/B001PDGFR8/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1460932262&sr=8-3&keywords=co2+meter
Awesome thanks!
Is that a much better meter than something like this?

I have 2 of the type mentioned by Psuagro. On 1 the display went out, and after sending pics to the manufacture of the serial number and display, they sent me a new one. So warranty honored. And I like the min/max function. Had the two for about 3 years.
*One small downside to this meter is it puts out a bit of light out the back of the meter...so it has to go out with the lights.
