when a carpenter blunts his thumb with a hammer by accident, he has only himself to blame.
if you're in the business of raiding people's home with guns without telling them who you are, death at the hands of a confused and justly defensive homeowner is part of the job description, just like the carpenter with the sore thumb.
it took far fewer deaths to spur the end of alcohol prohibition. what does it say about american culture that we don't even care that so many citizens and LEOs are dying over a few plants (and four legal guns) anymore?

I don't agree with the pig part but the rest is golden. You live by that weapon and one day you may very well find yourself standing at the business end. Stay the fuck out of peoples shit and show some respect next time. "No Knock" warrants sound like some underhand bullshit to me. If you bust in my back door like the stick-up man I'm bust one is your ass just as well. I pray to God justice is served and the homeowner goes home.

Unfortunately he's in Texas and has zero defense. He was growing which means any/every weapon in the house is illegal and escalates the crime. He also has 2 prior convictions which makes this a habitual crime. As wrong as it is, he's got a huge uphill battle to stay off Death Row.

He might have been a little fidgety because of his grow op. If my door was kicked in, and I had a rifle close to me, my first instinct would be to barricade myself and my girlfriend in the bedroom, pointing the gun at the door. Law Enforcement would probably make themselves known by the time they got into the room.
Of course, guns are illegal where I live, so there isn't that immediate fear of death by gunshot when someone enters your house, irrespective of the time of day. People here would have to physically attack you.

They asked for it... Why in the did they use a no-knock warrant for a grow and weapons? It's not like the home owner could flush the evidence down the toilet.

Seriously this is the absolute truth. In a state were being armed to the teeth 24/7 is the norm bum rushing anybody's house without a warrant is a good way to get fucked.

Texas also has law that if the officers don't identify themselves prior to entry, then occupant has right to defend their selves.
