Stoked to be running TGA's JillyBean and checking out her phenos for our patients.

All testers are in 1 gallon hard pots, mix4 soil, botanicare nutes at 75%

I popped 5 beans and got 2 Females with #3 being a shorter pheno and #4 being a taller pheno.

JillyBean #4 is leading the way so far with resin production and her incredible smell.

And yes, I know the plants in my photos always need to be watered. I water after their photo session.

OK, enough of that. Let's check out some delicious JillyBean...

wow buddy... you've been throwing up all ur TGA tday... good job
Well, I decided to do individual threads now so interested people can follow or find them in the archive.

The hack totally sucked and I was going to wait a bit for stability... but whatever, if I don't do it now it probably won't get done.

I am tracking everything for my patients so I'll keep trying to share my info here. I am new to TGA and liking what I am finding.

JillyBean Pheno Report: Day 48

Wow. Both of these phenos are looking amazing and will graduate to a full 10 gallon grow to see how they *really* do for us.

JillyBean #3 is the shorter pheno with a beautiful pineapple smell. JillyBean #4 is the taller pheno with less of an aroma at this time. Both phenotypes are absolutely coated in resin at this point with the resin heads cloudy to just turning amber. The color is changing nicely on both as well.

Here are the pics (I am including group shots now for comparison).

JillyBean #4:

It is too early to pick favorites but I am leaning towards JillyBean #4 as my choice. I won't really know until patient smoke reports and an actual 10 gallon run.

Sweet!

My tester JillyBean pheno run has finished. Now just wait for the cure... can't wait.

Here is how they finished.

JillyBean #3 has amazing color (more red/orange) while JillyBean #4 has the size advantage. Both had perfectly structured nodes, opposite facing pairs with each successive node at 90 degrees... just beautiful structure. Both were topped once in veg to clone for mothers. At the finish both had much increased resin production, increased sweet aroma and amber trichs coming on, with #4 showing just a little more amber. #3 finished at 18" while #4 finished at 24".

Let's look at some shots.

They both really look fantastic and I can't wait for the smoke reports from our patients.

FINISH RESULTS: 04/08/2012

Well, initial reports are in and JillyBean is everything she was promised to be. We LOVE how upbeat and motivational this strain is. Our 2 phenotypes spent a week hanging to dry before final trim and jar. These reports are after final trim but before any jar curing so I expect things to only get better over time. While Jilly#3 yielded 2/3 the weight of Jilly#4, the Jilly#3 pheno seems to be the choice mother for our patients.

Total Yield: 85g / 2 plants = 42.5g / plant average across the 2 different phenotypes

JillyBean#3: yield: 36g dry
trim: 5 - medium difficulty
aroma: 8 - super tangy, baby poo skunky, pineapple BO
look: 7 - deep red hairs, bright green buds
taste: 8 - fruity, baby poo skunky, pineapple
high: 8 - pleasant, uplifting, happy, smiley, social, motivational, aphrodisiac

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

JillyBean#4: yield: 49g dry
trim: 5 - medium difficulty, super sticky
aroma: 7 - tangy, baby poo skunky, pineapple BO
look: 8 - orange/red hairs, bright green buds, super sticky
taste: 7 - fruity, musky, baby poo skunky, pineapple
high: 8 - munchies, uplifting, social, motivational

many thanks to Subcool and TGA Genetics.
and thank you for following along.

You sexed before you veg? Please advise?

i like the idea of Super soil too...it is actually difficult for me to obtain the amendments. I wish I had a trusty internet sight to order all of that good stuff without paying an assload in shipping.....

Since I wasn't hunting for males, I popped the seeds, grew them to about 4" at 18/6, flipped to 12/12, sexed them, kept the females, flipped back to 18/6, vegged about 2 weeks and topped, then put back in 12/12 to flower and finish at 1 gallon tester size. This was all due to circumstance (plant space and numbers) and isn't necessarily the best way to do things.

Love the girl on girl action :hump:.
You have some really nice grows, sure there in only 1gal pots, But they look like very happy ladies and they all look amazing. Keep up the good work.

Looks great for a two week veg! I also had that pheno #4. But mines started off with a sweet fruity taste and had that diesel aftertaste. Great grow bro!

you know, i hear a lot about how this method is stressful to the plants, but i have been doing it exactly like this for years, and have never run into any problems.....i think the key, is too get out the magnifying glass and really study what the two pre-calyx's look like very, very early......i often sex my plants without ever seeing pistils......just by the shape of the pre-calyx....or sometimes not waiting for the ladies to show, but just the males......males almost always show first......i think that if you can get your sexing done in 4-7 days, then pinch out the top, there is very little stress in the process...

......with that being said, i want to give a big shout out to hovering......bro, your detailed evaluations are really top-tier, and i for one, follow them very closely.....they are simple, clean, and very straight forward, the photos are awesome.......thanks for your hard work on your new "geek"......i can relate bro......lab grows are my geek too.....please keep it up.......nugbuckets

......also, your grows and documentation, more than any other factor, is what determines not only what i order, but what i choose to grow in my space......you just don't find anything else like this anywhere on the web when it comes to working genetics......and i appreciate it big-time.

Thanks for the kind words Nugs. I am just learning early sexing and know it will be a valuable skill to have. I am also picking males now too so I can breed them into a couple killer queens I have going. I was fortunate to meet Sub at the perfect time, when I was ready to put energy into these projects. I am running as much gear as I can and will continue to start new threads and build on past ones. My Cheese Quake and Plushberry threads will be showing up soon, as will my SpaceDawg one. Qush very soon... Oh my.

You work inspires me Nugs. Keep kicking ass.
