hi! thanks alot. i'll play it by ear as far as harvest goes. i'll get the 30x magnifier out and do it that way. i just visited my tent and there's still very little smell going on. maybe a little mintiness.

i've only smoked a-train once and it was from a dispensary so i don't know if it was grown from seed or a clone or soil or hydro but i loved it. i was seriously stoned and euphoric.

i haven't decided what to grow next time. i have quite a few seed types stashed. i'm sure eventually i'll grow the rest of the a-train and vortex seeds. i also have some fem GH k-train and alaskan ice but i just haven't heard much good about those strains other than they stretch and are really unpredictable and unstable. i have some nirvana bubblicious and some seedsman narkush and ata tundra. i was thinking about trying the narkush and ata tundra becuase they are 100% indica and i've never grown a pure indica.

i also have a bunch of freebees: randy candy, thai super skunk, red haze, g13 haze.... all unknowns to me.

I'm getting pretty impressed with the looks of the Vortex, Dance. I have two with less sativa characteristics that are turning into heavy single cola plants( exactly what I'm looking for ).They are similiar but not the same. And the pheno that you have and I both have is looking like an awesome plant. It has a nice top cola forming now and looks very sativa like. Then there is Stretch whose genes must go back to Romulan or Cindy 99.

So what is A- Train like and what prompted you to get that strain?

hi cave, i sure think my vortex looks very sativa like for sure. it's a great plant. a little stretchy as you know but space for light to get in there and not massive amounts of fan leaves.

so how many tga strains have you grown?
 
Just what I have going on now from subcool. Jillybean, Vortex, Void and Qleaner. You should get those seeds going :). The Vortex with the thicker stalk and nice fat top cola is frosting up like crazy. I'm blown away by how sugar already. The top cola is going to be pretty heavy too. I'm seeing very spear headed buds on my sativa girl thats like yours. You?

i'm all excited! :weed: the girls are certainly slowing on the stretch and buds are filling in. day 36.

you are correct cave! the vortex seems to have a bit more of a slender spear shaped bud. i was just checking it out. it's got lots of little popcorn/thumb sized buds that are just wet as hell looking with long pistils. yum yum! :-P

thank you chowda! i did nothing to the vortex at all! no training, no pruning. that's just the way she grew. i vegged for a month. she was about 10" tall then - i think. she stretched about a foot more than the a-trains. i beat her up pretty good when i transplanted her into the 5 gallon bucket but she got over it just fine. she's been a good girl!

i took a quick glace at your grow journal rub. i have a xl homebox which is close to the tent you had at that time. mine is a second and the homebox is pretty cheaply made but it's the best purchase i've made. i had closets and boxes and wardrobes. i got the homebox and hooked up one 6" exhaust fan and NO problems since. i'd like to get a nice tent like you have with the windows.

I LOVE the windows. I can stand there for an hour. When I get off work I'll kick my shoes off, load a fat bowl and go stand in front of the tent. I like to check all of the climate guages from the outside. I'll stand there for a while before I can't stand it any longer and I unzip the fukr. I'll probably wear the bitch out within a year as many times as I'm in there. I'm a NOOB. As you know this is my second tent. I bought the 4x4 (GL145) and now I'm using the 4x9 (GL145L). Fantastic investments imo. The 4x4 will be my veg tent when I move to a place with a 2 car garage.
 
it might be my imagination but when i checked on the girls tonight i could swear i smelled a slight rotten fruit poopy smell. 8)
 
I have a vortex clone that I got from my caregiver group... and seeing yours all grown up makes me VERY excited.

I hope so. It came from a clone house in Sonoma. Should be yummy... as I smoked some Sonoma outdoor from the same genetics last fall.

Now that I have my tent locked in, I am thinking of starting a journal.

I have a purple erkle clone, that vortex clone, and 8 seedlings going at the moment... 2 Northern Lights, 4 Purple Wreck, and 2 Critically Smashed.

I will probably only take 4 plants past week 2 of flower, picking only the strong/female.
 
well, some good ones and some bad ones.

i'm supposed to be 2 weeks and 2 days out from 55 days finishing but i'm not so sure. my pistols are bright white and my big fan leaves have a little spot or two but are still looking dark green.

but anyway... buds are fattening right up. there's still not much of a smell except for the slight minty rotten odor. it's not unpleasant at all - i like it!

upward growth has slowed to a stop it seems. i'm thinking i kept these girls about 3 feet from dirt to top - so far.

Just to let you know, if you feed correctly you won't have any leaf yellowing at the end of flowering
So it isn't really a sign of when the plants will be done
