all income above $250k subject to a 25% flat tax, no exceptions. all income above $800k taxd at 35%, no deductions no exceptions.

THE biggest financial problem this country has is the 1%.

if everyone would pay the correct percentage, we'd ALL be a lot better off.

the 1% are selfish.

pfft I don't make the 1% list my dear. A person needs to be worth at minimum $7 million to be in that club, I'm not even half way there. I might get a check for $900,000, but all my overhead and expenses turn that into less than 200K profit. Any other money I make by speculation or investment pretty much goes into my self directed IRA. You should tell the politicians to stop voting all these new tax loopholes into law instead of blaming the citizens who have no actual vote in the process.

How can you possibly change things? Some of these people are SOOO wealthy that they can't possibly spend it all even if they spent $1 million every day for the rest of their lives. They have SOO much wealth that they can invest in a bond that yields 1% and still not spend that 1% in their lifetime.

Funny, the US Government took in a RECORD amount of revenue this year and yet the debt and deficit continue to rise.

But yeah, the people that worked and earned the money are the selfish ones... ROFLMFAO!!!

We cant even get you to make enough to support yourself and yet you whine about others who do that and so much more....

Until we have a straight flat tax it is never going to be fair. You will always have one class fighting against another which is coincidentally what the government wants.

Equal treatment under the law.... That has been twisted in knots.

If everyone had to pay 15% or whatever then the politicians would NEVER get it to move higher. That is why they create classes and divide and conquer and spend much more than they take in with a huge portion of it being wasted and then chastise the producers for not giving up enough to satisfy their never ending greed for power and money.

Certain fish like our wild salmon require a €15 permit because they have "off-seasons" for spawning, but virtually all sea fishing and most river fishing require no permit.

that is my point. there are so many loopholes (tax code) that all these monies taxability which could be used to reduce deficit (and then some) is not. it then falls to joe q. citizen who can least afford due to stagnant wages, ever increasing COLA etc.

now we have an amendment of dodd frank which allows then to continue the wealth on the backs of the joe q. citizen again. monies that never truly taxed because of the system that we just again changed back to pre-2007 october. wooohooo! derivitives! does joe q. citizen benefit? fuck no! but let me tell you..they fuck up and joe q. citizen takes it up the ass again.

EDIT: Not necessarily. I can easily construct a situation in which a taxpayer essentially enjoys no tax benefits whatsoever. How about the single individual or possibly a married couple without children, who make just enough to make ends meet but still cannot save to buy a house? Or possibly, they prefer renting to the onerous commitment of home ownership. There doesn’t appear to be any tax breaks for them.
