THC Bomb Grow Journal

you dont need to but its always a good option when you have different phenos that outgrow each other. it will allow them to keep same canopy level and increase the number of tops at the canopy level.

Week 7:

I might have been wrong about the two bigger ones not getting much bigger.

Going from right to left in the picture the plants measure: 44 in., 22 in. and 39 in.

That makes the tallest plant about a foot taller than the seed bank's range for this strain (the seed banks range topped out at 31in.).

They've also developed some nice little buds.

ok, been a while, i germinated 10 unfeminized seeds and stuck them in a coco fiber/potting soil mix, my buddy made the first mistake and watered them too much, unfortunate, but we got 3THCB growing and 3 random mids seeds. theyre under two 26 watt CFLs which are on 24 hours for the next couple days then ill probably change to 20/4 and get another light in there. we should get at least one female THCB that we can clone. THIS IS MY FIRST GROW INDOORS SO ANY HELP WILL BE APPRECIATED!
ill post pics tomorrow...

hey Zeiglerj, think they grew a little tall cause if inadequate lighting?

That might be. they do seem a little stretched. But their buds are growing fast. noticed some crazy trichomes around the buds just now.

I can't wait to see how these turn out.

I'll post ya' a couple of pics of my bomb tomorrow before I chop her. You need more light my friend. Have you thought about bending them and tying them to something? String, wire, a shower curtain rod? Anything? If you can bend them into a horizontal position you can get more even coverage along your stem and get your lights closer.

The thing that's keeping the light higher, though, is the heat. I've got a thermometer at the level of the tops of the plants and it's pretty hard to keep it at 80.

The area they're in now, under the 400 watt HPS, I'm really not that worried about. They're growing fast and filling out. The area where they got a little stretched is in the summer area I've got set up in the closet under fluros.

NICE man, REAL nice!! here are my babies, just wish i could compete with heads up. let me know what you guys think... just put them to a 20/4 light cycle, the ones in the cups are just random seeds and one has some yellow nastyness on the leaves. anyone know what that is? other then that the bombs look good:bigjoint:

That's a huge cola. When you get her dried you should post the final weight.

What kind of smell did she develop? Mine are still pretty orderless.

Other than that they are filling out nice though. Buds everywhere.

Week 8

Tied down the other of the taller plants so I could lower the light. It's a little over a foot from the tips now. That's a little close but they seem to be taking it very well.

Buds are filling out, starting to smell like bud. A little peppery.

Check out the pics. The last one is the clones under a 400 watt metal halide in a second eb and flood system my wife and I set up a couple of weeks ago. Took them 2 weeks to take root but now that they have, the tallest one has grown 5 1/2 inches in the last few days.

looking good zieg. those 2 big ones look pretty nice and nuggety. the smaller one will hopefully start catching up alittle more with the closer light. keep those clones all at a same height so when you flower those girls youll be able to control them alot easier. all looks healthy too!!!

Any tips on how to keep the clones roughly the same height?

Two from one plant are growing a little faster than the two from the other.

It's not a problem yet. They might end up pretty close still but if the difference starts getting bigger, is there anything I could do other than tying them down?

So, I'm thinking I'll wait until the fastest growers hit 12 inches (when I would normally want to start flowering) and then top them each as they cross that mark. Then, after the last one gets topped, I'll switch bulbs and start flowering. Cool?

I'll probably be doing some other pruning at those points anyway. The grow with the clones is set up so I have exactly 1 meter squared to work with and I really want to get those four clones to bush out to that size so I can see if 27 ounces per meter squared is really possible with this strain. :)

WEEK 2

just transplanted three days ago, theyre lovin the lowes buckets!! i noticed the random mids plants were growing a lot better probably cause they had more room to grow, (the THC bomb's root system took over their container) so we had to make the move. the lights are now on 18/6 and were about to get three more in there. everything is lookin good, even the plant that was yellow cured itself, its the second pic. i was thinkin of topping them once they get about a foot tall and use the tops to make some clones for more plants.
good idea????

Week 9:

What to report since last I was here. The plants are continuing on schedule. I've rearranged them somewhat to try to get better light to the runt. So far it's the only one not producing bid ole' buds. But its tiny little cola does have density. That thing is as solid as a rock and sticky as hell. Of the other two the back one has developed the most beautiful aroma. It's become slightly skunky but with this intense peppery burst that reminds me of incense and the Mexican weed I used to enjoy as a kid.

I'm trying not to make this too much about the clones but I should mention that they now have clones of their own and are going into flowering.

thats lookn pretty good there zieg. the two bigger ones look to be enjoyin the light and the back one will be the biggest producer by the looks of it. clones are a huge part of your grow so its not bad to keep talking about them. be careful of topping right before flower cause it doesnt quite grow the tops out very well, but your strain seems to have taken a good growth in flower so they might do the same. what kind of nutes are you using? looks like a little stress in pic 2, might not be a problem just good to be aware of.

The curling on the leaves? I always seem to end up with a little of that. I'm not sure if it's the lights or the fans. The plants seem to respond well to lowering the lights and I am careful to never have the fans blowing directly on the plants but if I turn them off the temps shoot up. Anyway, I'm planing on getting a free-standing A/C unit in there before summer so I wont need the fans to be on quiet so high. Just high enough to circulate air.

The clone in the front corner of this pic is showing the same thing and it's the one nearest the fans.

Muffinman, from what I've read it sounds like this would be a good strain for topping. I cut just the tips from my clones, not only on the top but every branch (except for the plant I cloned) and they are responding really well (see pic two).

As far as nuets, I'm sticking to the Botanicare line. The big girls are getting Pure Blend Pro Bloom (soil blend at the recommendation of my local hydroshop) + Liquid Karma + Sweet.

The clones we're trying a new one the hydroshop owner swears by (insane results or double my money back). It's called Hydrolux. I'm mixing it with the Pure Blend Pro Bloom + Liquid Karma + Sweet.

This is only their second day with the Hydrolux but the shop owner says I should see awesome results in a week. "Huge clusters of tomatoes" ;).
