Outdoors plants are subjected to way higher levels of UV(a-b) than ANY indoor light source can emit. I see no harm in using it, and if I remember correctly kitehigh(rip) had actual lab analysis done which proved a "significant" thc increase and justified its continued use in his garden.
Apache tech panels are the best American manufacturer on the market ATM, are they perfect? No. they space their leds to close together resulting in a small fixture size == small footprint/coverage area for the $, they use secondary pmma lenses (10-15% light loss) and have rather careless light loss to the sides due to the clear lenses (another extra 5%? Loss). But these are easy fixes in the future with better aluminum "reflectors"and possible tighter primary led lens options from nichia themselves?
Still...... its a great led fixture IMO
