The 2x2 Show

Need a place to unload photos from grows via my 2x2 which is the largest I have for a while. It is mostly to engage in growing minimally to enjoy and give each bean a chance to show off it’s genetics.

I have a decent amount of beans that are getting old but still germinating. The 2/2 gets humid so that contributes to some of the show and how I work around that.

Last run was over crowded, dehuey overfilled few times and completely molded/rotted. Need to clean up and try again with smaller, opened up plants.

So rather it ends good or bad, welcome to the show. All tips and comments are welcome.

This run will be a 130w ufo fecida and 2 gallons ffof with just tap water. Bean popped today, planting soon. It is Super Shark. Photo period. Top dress when needed with more ffof.

Trying to keep plant small and spread out, well ventilated. No nets. Pruning and defoliating some. Each run will be similar in structure. Started out with dirt, then coco for a while and now back to dirt so I am still pretty new to dirt. It has made things pretty simple for now.

Yet another healmet head near fail but pulled through barely on time before true leaves/cotylidons rot and die which I seen many times. Growing at full vigor so it is a keeper for now. The ball is officially rollin, super shark here we go!

2x2 is ready. Vacuumed out in and around tent and used peroxide solution to wipe down walls. Cleaned out old fans and bought two more so have 4 now. May reposition them as plant grows. Just need more hygrometers. I think it has enough fans.

I have 26” to grow in max. I wish the tent was a foot taller, it is 5.

Photo dump. One week old, planning on letting it root more in the cup before transplanting. I want to transplant after 1 week out of habbit with coco. I already am over watering a little bit and know it will be easier to do in a bigger pot as of now.

Watered a little in the cup to then cut up and transplant and then water again just until runoff so I don’t get tempted to water again too soon. Now letting it chug along for a while on 18/6, was on 24/0 for a couple weeks inside another grow just to save on energy. Exaust has carbon filter removed and turned on low. Middle fan turned on for airflow for now.

I put a gallon jug inside the pot, I am sure it is trade gallons which is 1.4 gal which is fine, smaller plant, the better. Ufo turned half way and 18” away.

Sprouted 3 weeks ago today. Watered today as first couple inches were dry on top and further down. Was watered 6 days ago. Don’t want it to get too dry.

Topping at 4th node in a couple days. Not going to use first node I don’t think. I think it takes a while to match vigor and just doesn’t grow the same but it works. Still on 24/0, being lazy but I read it may grow more on that schedule in veg.

It's crazy, but, my helmet head that I almost threw out is now the biggest, tallest plant in the tent lol

last water 7/14, next watered was 7/18. Not watered again since and was brought to attention it has a N toxicity and try watering less often. Mutations on a few stems but still growing it out as I was told it isn’t rare and can grow fine still. Was not happy about it and never seen this before but what ever. 31 more days till flip.

Leaves prayed too hard so dimmed light half way. Leaves twisted after 7/14 watering which may be a PH issue but not making any changes. I haven’t checked ph of tap I think it is like 7-8.0. Exactly 2 weeks since transplant.

Chuggin along, 3 more weeks till gender reveals and flips to flower. Seems like out growing the extra N but some burns I am seeing on few leaves. Not sure why. Watering every 6 days.

6 weeks old. Watered once. Trimmed dead fan leaves. Letting mutations grow out to select the most normal nodes to keep. Had to check with plant problems section to find I was suggested over watering or over fed. It acted crazy last time I watered it. Preyed too hard.

Week 7, have one week left to reveal sex and flip if I am healthy enough to. Sad update, it was going great until I let it dry back too far, two watering intervals and leaves wilted. Half of leaves are dying out but new growth is coming in.

It perked back up soon as I watered and had a thread in plant problems section to figure that out. Going to water like every 3 days, depending on how the first 2” of dirt are sitting. Was suggested to do even less water and more often so may bounce between those two practices.

Trying not to wait until leaves are dead to act, that wouldn’t go well in flower. Edit: I think time to top dress, tranplanted 7/8 almost 5 weeks ago tomorrow. Looks hungry, micro nute def and soon others so here I go later today.

Update, lots of updates. It showed pistol but also took a loop to look close at a node that from far looks like a sac but up close is just leaf with no long tips yet. I flipped the light schedule yesterday to get going on flipping, been a while since I had to wait 60 days to flip so I am anxious.

I had health problems but it leaned towards underwatering and ready for top dressing so I top dressed about half an inch to an inch of fresh ffof, not trying to over feed since ffof is hot in N and etc. I waited till week 5 and saw for my self how nutes indeed deplete about 30 days in.

I topped it in two areas to keep even and to rid the mutated stem so it just grows normal nodes, I did that for my other grow which so far buds/stems look normal after pruning. The stem on this grow just about split into two already which did on another node and continued normal but short tent, need keep plant short.

Watering every 2 days to keep soil in a healthy moisture level. I took a clone and might take one more for good luck.
