Jumped the shark with this one... not gonna stretch enough to accommodate all this screeeeeen... haha.... we will see what happens but probably not gonna see it's full potential this round... maybe I"ll keep the setup regardless of whether I move or not because htis is bad ass... haha.

You mean the fact that it's not quite reaching all the bulbs that are lit now? Well, the circuits are arranged so that they go out in banks of 2... so it's either the 4 I have on or go down to 2 on each.

Or, are you saying I should just do the LED alone until they stretch more to encourage more distance? Maybe I should like... light some of the T5's above and turn off the ones below during stretch? Or just straight led?

I didn't want to stretch unreasonably but I don't mind encouraging it a bit more if there's a way to play the middle ground. It didn't occur to me to manipulate the lighting to encourage a bit of extra stretch but maybe that's a good idea.

I also read that far red will reduce stretch, as well as blue spectrum, so I'm considering pulling the coral waves until later in flower.

veg either T5's or 400w MH
Flwr 600w HPS
or 600w & 400w HPS..
the LaCon was veg'ed with T5's
& have been under (way in back) 600w HPS
 
Bloody hell! My two CBH's both popped a massive amount of balls. They are male as FUUUUCK. Both of them. Dang. My buddy popped one and got a female, I popped two and got males... absolute failboat. Oh well, he's gonna hook up some clones and I still got enough seeds to do a solid run when I get set up after the move as well.
 
Whoop, they say it comes in threes right? Been sort of sitting on this NLxNL waiting for it to cure up in a narrow mouth big jar but I think it has been creating a little humid environment in there even though I am burping... I started making a stronger effort to exchange the air but remained lazy and didn't actually pull the buds out to rotate.. anyway I got the faintest traces of mold starting on some buds. I almost didn't want to believe it but the smell was just barely off so I scoured with a loupe and found some.

Throwing it all in the dehydrator to get it bone dry and stop everything in it's tracks, then I'll rejar it in a different type of jar... then it's for the hash gods...

So that's two, I wonder what the third will be, heh.

I was planning on making hash soon anyway but now I'm makin a LOT of hash, heh.
 
It's a seriously minor amount, I was having a hard time entirely convincing myself it was mold and not just trichomes smushed up in weird ways, but then I saw some real bright white floating heads, far too "fresh" looking to be dry trichomes... they were very sparse but the stuff's definitely there and I'm not taking chances... from what I"m hearing bubble bags are the way to go when you have mold because they rinse through with the water.

Don't REALLY want to cook all this up into butter or whatever, it would be way more than I'd have a use for, so I guess I will buy a bubble bag set...
 
Well fuck it, not worth the risk, I'm not inhaling mold spores and growing mold balls in my lungs, that sounds terrible. And I totally vaped a bowl right before, AWESOME. So yeah. I'm pretty discouraged by that. Fuck it, I'm going to have to trash it.
 
Use it for compost, or bio-char. When I grew the 20 pound monster I had to toss almost 10 pounds before I even got it inside. So weird to have 10 pounds of bud in a pile in the back yard. The next year I grew some sativa in the pile (banana peels, eggshells, coffee grounds, grass clippings...). Healthiest happiest plant I ever grew!

Thanks Mo that makes me feel better, lol. I only had to do away with a 55g jar!! I'm sure there was only a little mold here and there but we all know that the spores are all over and that's the real bad news, I don't want to be inhaling that shit. I did my research and I'm 99% sure it's aspergillus.

It is frustrating to know it's just no good... I will never take risks on curing again, I'll always err on the dry side. that's what I usually do but I was just futzed by that jar because I didn't notice it was holding so much moisture even though I was burping it. The jars are so nice otherwise... they hold a lot of bud... just got to make sure I only go to them for final storage and not cure apparently. Wide mouths all the way. (This is the opposite of a wide mouth, it's like 1.5 liters at least and really wide base with just a 2.5" mouth.)

Anyway... they say bad luck comes in threes so I figure the third was when, before I researched how bad it is for you and how much the spores get about, I took the fucking jar and shook it up side down to get all the buds out through the small mouth. I no doubt filled my room and covered my desk with the spores. So I did a lot of clean up today to try to counter it and have been moving fresh air through the room with two fans in windows for hours. In a way I'm glad I did that because now I can say my bad luck came in threes, let's get on to the good luck. ;)
 
Unless you are running a HEPA filter and have a clean room, you will always be getting some spores in your room. Healthy plants and a dry environment go a long way to preventing PM. Some plants are very prone also. Ace of Spades gets it very easily. Subcool uses a closed room with zero outside air introduced and supplemented CO2.

I burned some of my waste in 2013 to make some ash fertilizer.

In case I was not clear, I've never had PM... this was aspergillus, formed in the jar during cure. So far so good about keeping molds that eat growing plants out of the picture.
