The beginning of a perpetual grow.

Glad to see you've got some plants going. I got had a bunch of people bust into my house back in July @ 1:30a.m. and stole all my shit. Now that I'm in a new house I started back up this month myself, got 8 Critical Kush, 8 AK-47, Somango, Jedi Kush, Chernobyl, Cheese Quake, Skywalker Kush, Chronic, and Sour D. Only difference for me this time is I'll be flowering under 4k watts.

very nice, sorry I haven't updated in a few days, had a lot of work and what not. So some of them got stunted from the feeding but are starting to grow now. There are 3 that are looking great; D2, D4, and Triclopse. Triclopse's 3 plants (T1,2,3) are growing but not all the same. T1 is growing fast, T3 is growing but not as fast, and T2 was stunted and now is growing. I have a cup under triclopse to catch runoff and the roots found it so theres a good bit of roots underneath. Idk how I'm going to transplant triclopse. I also added 2 12v 120mm computer fans for circulation because I noticed there was a white something developing on the top of the coco and it has helped with that problem. So without further ado, pics:

I love coco coir. When I checked this morning a few of them had finished with their 4th node and was almost done with its 5th node. They are eating up this food now. I forgot to post the feeding schedule so heres the feeding so far:
Week 1: straight water
Week 2: 1/4 strenth maxibloom and calmag
Week 3: 1/2 strength
I think im going to keep them on 1/2 strength for an extra week so they dont get too big.
Ill post another pic tonight after lights on to show y'all the overnight growth

i was bored and high, plus these are just bagseed and I dont really care if those die. Its also more of an experiment to see what happens, but I am contemplating seperating them because they are actually some of the best looking plants. the big one grows so fast that if I dont check the light a couple times a day she will grow up onto it and then burn herself (its happened twice now)

They won't have enough individual root mass for the yields to pay off, I could also see issues arising above ground as they fight for light. I would go ahead and separate them sooner rather than later. *Edit* Not like there is a problem just letting be together, like 3 sisters :P *Edit*

I'm going to seperate them sometime within the next month, I'm deciding on if I should cut the roots off under the cup because they dried out for about a day and Im worried about root rot from constantly being in there. Or I may just let the dry out instead of cutting them. ideas?

honestly if it was me, i would toss them and claim it as experience.. cause if you separate them they are going to be severely shocked and possibly die. only do one plant per pot. the other plants look good though..

lol but what good is an experiment done poorly?Im designing my flowering light fixture today and will post pics later. Im deciding on when to top, Im goin to do the third or fourth node though because they are healthier looking. Little leaves are popping up at the nodes too

im talking about the one with 3 plants in 1 cup...

Yeah, I'd go ahead and either

A.) Separate them now
B.) Let them grow out enough to clone from them & replace.
C.) Let them be
D.) Toss & Replace

i know i was talking about triclopse too. I'm probabaly not going to touch them beyond some lst until they show their sex. Im thinking of getting a 400w mag ballast and running a cmh in it, I would get a 150w but I want something that i can keep on using once I upsize. My only concern is the heat and noise from the ballast but I'm going to see if the hydro shop will run it in front of me before i buy to adress the noise concern (their pretty cool)
This is the one Im thinking of getting:

Basic Ballasts are magnetic coil ballasts for the budget minded consumer who are looking for the lowest price, with the highest quality components available on the market today. This Basic Magnetic Ballast is near silent and simple to use. Equipped with convenient carrying handles, these steel cased ballasts are vented to run cooler, than older ballast designs. sic Magnetic Ballast is one of the coolest running Magnetic ballasts in the market. Simpley Switch for Halide ,or Sodium lamps. 120 or 240?...doesn't matter, this ballast comes with an innovative 120-volt / 240-volt EZ Switch.

I don't under stand why you are going to waste your time, if you are going to separate them AT ALL. Do it now, or you will basically kill them when attempting to separate them.

I've never used magnetic ballasts, so I can't give much input there.

i wouldnt waste the time wth the 3 of them. they most likely will die when its time to seperate them. ive been there. i used a htg supply magnetic ballast before i got my phantom digital.. that thing if i touched it would burn the shit out of me.. i can touch and hold my phantom digital without problems.... now the noise issue, all i heard on my magnetic was a constant buzzing sound... i dont hear anything from my digital..

I'm not going to seperate them after sex, just snip the male. Again this grow is just an experiment because I have a lot of what ifs. In a month or two it will be marvelous

I have a HTG 1k digital that runs quite & doesn't get hot. I plan to get some phantoms like fir3dragon has for my flower room, they are the shiz.

true, the plants are looking kinda droopy. There are light spots on some leaves but I think its from nute water getting on them

Hopefully, it's nothing major. I can hook you up with some beans or a cutting if you're still in the 850. Once those tri need to be replaced.

Nice I'm interested to see how this goes as perpetual has always seemed like a tantalizing option, but a little too much work for a lazy bum like me. BTW I LOVE Triclopse, I have always thought that it would be a good idea to let a few plants start in one container, as when one of them out competes the others you will know which plant is the most vigorous. Although in that case I would probably cull the losers and just keep the bully. Either way I'm interested to see how the plants in Triclopse do in comparison to the others
