Last year i had the privilage to meetanother member on here
i traveled to the coast grass vally area.saw the way the pros were doing the outdoor. I asorbed all i could and came runnin home with some little seeds in a jar.
Got home in time to stick 6 of my out indoor mother plants outdoors for a grow .it was june 1. Wrong time for my region. May 15 is our planting time. Plants did poorly harvest day brought around 3 l.b.s from all six.
Anyways 2011 and we are off on a new adventure born from seed .there are 30 little guys in the ground .i planted on may 22 because of rain delays.
I found an old farm, rented it for storage and made this garden.
Rototilled the ground 2 feet pulled all top soil away dug another 2 feet down .added a30 square yards of soil iv collected from indoor in a pile all winter
nice and composted. Lol
i also through in about10 bags of hydroton clay balls.left over from a deep water
culture system. Good to hold air and nuits
anyways these pics are several stages of groth all the way to current day and time .july 14 5 p.m.

Your grasshopper problem shouldn't really be a big issue, they just chew a few leaves here and there and don't do much damge to worry about BTW.
