The Big 6 (Wheezers Outdoor 2011 Grow)

Well, the closer it gets to planting time, the harder my decision to grow 5 out of 6 Romulans is becoming. I always grow a big variety, but this year I decided to go with the easiest, all-around best strain I have to grow, which is the Rommy, hands down. But, I have been growing a Jack Herer Trainwreck cross, that has not dissapointed me yet on her yield. I had the biggest one go almost 5 last year, and most were at least 3. That strain is a clone I got a few years ago, and it was old already, so it was getting to be very finicky, and hard to grow, catching every problem that came along. I used that Agent Orange male in some crosses, and the Jack was 1 of the strains I hit with him. I have 6 phenos, flowering in my 8x8 tent right now, and they are looking very good. There are a few of the phenos, that look exactly like the momma Jack, except with that Orange smell.
I'm tempted now, to put one of those in, and take a chance on it. I know it will yield good, so I think it's worth a shot. But, at the same time, I can always grow that strain indoors till next year, when I'll prolly be doin' more than just 6. What would you guys do??

Well,here's the big exciting picture update! A bunch of bags full of dirt! I put 1 Romulan in to test the soil and make sure I didn't put too much bat guano in the top layer. It's been in almost a week, and it looks good, so I think I'm good. I got 1 outta wack and it's not level, so I'll have to pull some dirt out, and shovel the rest up on one side and straighten it, no biggie.
I've been slowly collecting up all my supplies, organic tea ingrediants, hoses, spayers, pumps, and so forth. I'm ready to go almost, I just have to cut the top out of my new barrel, and mount my air pump on it, and I'll be ready. We're having a planting party Sunday, so that's when they'll go in.
I'll give you guys a run down on my tea ingrediants soon.

I just realized looking through the thread, that I never listed my dry ammendmenta that went in to the bags, only my base mix ingredients. So, here you go:
I mixed them in 3 layers so it would be easier to mix, and I have the right nutes in the right places hopefully. The bottom layer consists of:
Humus/soil mix
Perlite (lots)
Heavy Worm castings (almost half a bag)
Cal-Phos
Phos. bat guano
Green Sand
Vermiculite
Manna Mix
Dr. Earths Bud and Bloom booster
Second Layer:
The same with less worm castings
alf alfa meal
Nitro bat guano (little bit)
Top layer:
Humas/soil mix
Manna Mix
lots of nitro bat guano
worm castings
perlite
vermiculite
alf alfa meal (lots)
Composted Chicken Manure
The amounts I use are not really measured exactly, I'm one of those, a pinch of this, and hadful of that kinda green thumb growers, I don't even measure my liquid ferts most of the time.( I don't advise trying that at home boys and girls) So that's why I'm not giving you the exact amounts,....sorry.
My organic teas vary as well, I adjust it according to what I'm seeing happen, or as their needs change, but basically here goes:
During veg:
Dry ingredients:
nitro bat guano 10-6-1
organic compost (I use black cow baled compost)
worm castings
composted steer manure (I will be using some fresh horse manure this year too)
Humus
micro beasties
Liquid additives:
Bio-Link micronutrients (100% organic macro nutes, {hard to find})
Fish Emulsion
Liquid Kelp
Earth Juice catalyst
Fox Farm Big Bloom
During Flower:
Dry ammendments:
High Phosphorous bat guano
Dr. Earths Bud and Bloom Booster

Last month of flower:
I cut off all nutrients even though I'm all organic, because animal based nutes still have some salt content, and you can still have macro nutrients such as Cacium and Magnesium, that like to hang on to the plant much longer than Nitro, or Phosphorous. I give them some molasses during the first 2 weeks of that last month, along with micro beasties, but I cut that off for the last 2 weeks and give CLEAN WATER ONLY!!!!!
I can't express enough the mistake people make "flushing" with molosses and other carb or sugar "finishers" that have calcium and magnesium in them. Your not "flushing if your adding nutes, think about it. It's couterproductive IMO to "feed" or "flush" using anything during those last 2 weeks but water. I have been doing this with my grows from the start, and I hate to brag, but my smoke is some of cleanest burning herb you'll ever smoke. The last hit of a bowl or joint taste as good as the first hit did.

Here's a couple shots from yesterday. The tall skinny one is the Blue Dream, the real bushy one is Rommy Mommy, and the others are Romulan and Orange Romulan. The bud is an Orange Romulan that's 5 weeks into flower right now.

Well, it's about freakin' time eh?? Sure is alot smaller than last year, that's for sure. That's ok, I got all 6 good plants, plus, I'm moving so I'll have my indoor in my garage year round, so that'll make up for it.
Anyway, first 2 pics are Romulan, I put 2 in most holes, just cause it sounded like a good idea, and I had the plants soooooo what the hell. I planted them with the roots criss-crossed, and the top of the plant pointing out away from each other. I know it looks weird now, but they'll straighten up in a matter of days. The forth pic is my O.J. (Agent Orange x [Jack Herer x Trainwreck]). There are actually 3 in there,I couldn't decide which of the 6 phenos that are presently in a test run, 6 weeks in, to pick, so I went with the best 3 haha. Fifth pic is my Blue Dream, the oldest and biggest of the bunch, I got that clone from a buddy of mine, at the begining or middle of March. It's the only plant that's not one of mine (in house). The next one is the Rommy Mommy, I don't know if she's gonna take off, or stagger around a little bit because of her age. The last pic is an Orange Romulan cross of mine, it's only been ran indoors, but I have faith in the genetics, so I'm chancing those.
That's about it, I'll be taking my barrel down there tomorrow, and start my first batch of organic tea, and get this party started.

I hope so, yea, the pipes, was an idea I had to build em', and then I found em' already made. I think I'm gonna like em' alot! Oxygen straight to the root zone is good thing, not to mention the what they're built for...watering deep into your root ball! I'm gonna use em' for that too for sure.

Ok everybody, I'm in the process of moving and getting set-up at my new place. It's in a neighborhood, but I have an acre and it's got alot of treesand bushes around the property, so it's pretty private. My landlord is cool, and I'll be doin' my indoor in the 2 car garage, and a green house on a slab behind the house. I'll have a few short plants that I'll set out just about time for them to flower. It's not a good place to do any kind of big drow, so I'll keep my spot for 6 big ones at this location for the next couple years at least.
I'm gonna be pulling my pc out of my control room here tomorrow, and don't know for sure when I'll be hooking it up over at the new place, and even when I do, I won't have access to it like I do now, cause I'll still be staying here at the current rental for another month till I get this light depo batch, and these indoor batches done here. So I prolly will not be in here as much for a while, but I will at least get new pics up every week or so. Peace!!
