Roseman, I came up with some other ideas and your DIY Bubbleponics page was, as usual, my first step in the right direction. I saw through your other post how to build one (and it does seem rather easy, huh?) and I have planned out a fairly good (I think) design for a stealth grow cabinet made of plywood and insulated with rubber stops and sealing solution so that when closed, all air evacuated through a carbon filter. I just have a few questions left before I actually go through with this project. Please take a moment to review my crudely drawn and black haze (just some chocolate thai mixed with haze) inspired mspaint blueprint that i8s attached, then continue reading.
Inside of unit will have 8 23w cfl lights (mixed spectrum of 2700k and its 5700k counterpart (i think, right?) for a total of 1200 lumens each light) hanging from the top of the unit with Y adapters for wiring purposes. The unit itself will be coated in reflective material (probubly aluminum sheet). The unit is also properly insolated and airtight (rubber stops and a sealing solution on the plywood will give it that effect). The ventiallatio,n however will run though a 4 inch exhaust fan blowing air from inside the unit through a carbon filter and towards the outside. The unit will plug into a single outlet to power all of these (yay for surge protectors!) to include two small ocilating fans at either end of the garden for a slight summer breeze.
Note: The single wire connecting the lights and electronics to an outlet will evacuate through the carbon filter, ensuring the aroma is completely blocked.
So what do you think? Is the lighting adequate? Is the set-up viable and cost effective (that many lights arent too noticeable on the electric bill, right?) More importantly, since I am making my own Stealth Bubbleponics Grow Cabinet, I need a lot of info on nutrients, when to switch the lights based on the stages of the plant, when do I harvest, etc.
P.S.
Depending on your answers, I will begin construction as early as tomorrow and take pictures/construct a step by step info guide detailing all my steps. I estimate the entire set-up will cost me about 120-140 dollars, saving me 100-80 dollars, which is almost the entire price of what it would cost me to make a second one anyway...although the seed I'm going to use is currently not known to me (Basically it got me really high and I managed to scrimp 6 female seeds off it without getting the name down).
So what do you think Roseman or any of the bubbleheads? Is this a good idea?
