Id bet its very much like humans. The seed has everything it needs to be male or female. Depending on conditions you will get one or the other. Some will be... well lets call them more in touch with their masculine side and more likely to show those characteristics. just a wake and bake thought.

sounds more like an immature seed to me. "old" seeds don't really lose their coloring.Not that I've noticed anyway.

Although all the white demon seeds i got looked that whitish color. But they all grew perfectly fine. Greenhouse seeds has the painted seeds but efter that wore off in the paper towel the seeds looked healthy and striped but didn't germ well at all. The one that did has been stunted it seems. i think they were old. Every time i see a greenhouse seed video there's always like 20 rubbermaids behind them stuffed to the brim with prepackaged seed packs... makes you wonder.

I agree JB, they don't sell that many seeds. do they? The BW seeds just didn't look right... one cracked but never sprouted a tail. I waited too see,but a couple days later nothing. So I threw it in the r/w and the BP system and thats where it is now, and still, nothing.. i'm sad. =( i've never had a problem with seeds not doin they're thing....

Yesterday i bought a bubbleponics kit from someone on craigslist got bubbleponics kit and three lights and the hood for 175. So heres my thought i started 3 seedlings in soil 2 days ago and the 3 more sprouted this morning, i think i am going to put 3 in buble and 3 in soil in an autopot and use the bubbleponics as my resevior what do you think i should do

I'm lit...but that's a really philosophic view nonetheless. That feels like a legitimate reason.

I think I may go ahead and use GH Flora series on this grow. Isn't that what you use?

I also was wanting to use my FF solubles in flower though, has anyone had any expierience combining these two nutrients?..started a thread here.

so I have a diy bubble cloner. I've used this thing and had both good and bad luck with it. I had a cutting last week that I forgot about it sat in a glass of water for two days. I put it in the cloner and it died in 24hr. last night I loaded the cloner with 6 clones and in less then 4hr they all looked like shit. this morning they still look like shit in the cloner. The one I put in soil still looks good. any ideas would be great.

Say can anyone tell me if im germing a seed in water do I put it in the light or no light? a buddy gave me a grape ape seed I just threw it in water.

uh, you don't actually germ it in the water, just soak it for like 12 hours or so, then put it in the rockwool or paper towel to germinate.

I've never heard of germinating a seed in water or done it. I do pre-soak them before doing the wet paper towel method or the germing them in the cube in the system.

i never pre soak. I just put em in the paper towel wet that and keep it moist and in a day or two its usually ready for planting.

if its a bubble cloner, how high do you keep your res level? is it making enough bubbles to keep your root-zone moist? maybe detail your system a lil more.. I always clone in a small bubbler and have had great success with it... I use R/W, how about you? as long as it stays moist, they always seem to root..

same here, I just keep the paper towel wet, but a lot of the pros here soak their seeds so it's got me thinking. (also, I had a seed not sprout on me for the first time recently)

I started pre soaking seeds a few grows back. soak for 12hr then plant. But of course that was for soil grows.

I think I'm going to need a new air stones or a new pump. The water is not boiling near like it did. The root zone is very dry.

I always pre soak my seeds. 8 to 12 hours with a cup of room temperature water that has been sitting for 12 hours as well. After 12 hours of soak, they go into the wet paper towels. At that point, I "water" the paper towels every 12 hours until I see the root.

That is exactly how I do it too....and how most everyone else does it.

You can not let them lay in a puddle of water in the papertowel, just have them wet.
