Hey all,

I enjoy trying new leds and brands, I'm just getting in to the chineses brands.

I actually started with invisible sun from the Uk in 2018.
Still have a lm301b 3000k and a lm301h 3500k from them.

I also own a Mars Hydro SP 250 and a Spider Farmer SF 2000.

For my next light I would like to try Kingbrite and what an awesome threat with so much good info on them, still they have a lot a products and new stuff coming out that's it's hard to stay updated.

I'm chatting with Vicky but I'm trying to decide if the mix spectrum & UV IR chips are worh it on their new boards:


Or just go for some more power on the lm301h with this one and no UV IR chips. IR chips are important so not sure.


They're both $189.

Edit: Seem like I might have to pay VAT 23% and a 10€ customs fee. So $189 + 23% + $60 shipping + 10 = $308
This gets very close to DIY of some brands that have shipping from europe, still it's less expensive that most boards out there.

If they're the same price, just get the "UV" and "IR" chips. Might as well. it only sacrifices like a dozen diodes from the whole of both boards right?

I guess, not sure if the UV really makes a difference but I really like spectrums of 3500k with far reds.

The SP 250 is cct=3900k and the SF 2000 cct=3766k which are very bright and blue. I use them for flower but Im going more for taste instead of yield, if I what I read is true, still testing it.

This board is a mix of 3k with 3.5k, their graph says CCT= 3076k, because of the far reds right?

I know at this point this probably makes very little difference in the end result but I find it great to discuss the led tecnology and spectrums and learn more about it.

Yah I found the same thing with my 2 TSL2000s. Far too blue for flower.

Finally took the plunge @DrKiz
Took a bit of a different turn though lol
I bought the chilled led growcraft DIY x330 kit, they gave me a good discount and shipping will be cheap as I have a friend over there to ship it to me.
So all in all I'm only spending about £50 more than if i got the meijiu from alibaba as there shipping rate is just crazy not to mention potential import charges also..
also the woman from meijiu never got back to me... and other sellers I spoke to just made me sic with their stupid flirty style talk... lol so fukem..

Hey everyone. I've been lurking around the past few days. I am brand new to growing anything. I want to start with my light and tent first then go with everything else. The light seems to be the most problem. I am in Canada.

So I want to go with the alibaba lights because it's cheaper naturally. I can't afford to spend a 1000 bucks on a "legit" HLG.

Anyway, I can never understand what I am looking at nor why one option is more expensive than the other.

Why does that have its own section? I thought all the lights output that spectrum.

I am a starter, so I just want to hang a light in the tent and watch it grow with TLC and all that. I understand I need 3500k for veg and flower?

Those are all just different options to add to the 3000k diodes. Different speectrums.
And yes 480-600watts for a 4x4.

Hey, I'm no expert but I've been doing some shopping lately and looking at similar things, so I'll give it a go. I think you're on the right track looking at the Kingbrite boards via Alibaba. Kingbrite is pretty well known and reasonably respected among growers online, due to good prices, a solid delivery record, and less BS and games than you might find elsewhere.

I didn't follow all those links but those should be all preassembled for the most part. You might need to attach the hangers and connect the driver to the board, but that takes like two minutes and requires no electronic skills.

It seems the LM301H and LM301B chips are essentially the same, with the H models just having data sheets and marketing geared specifically to horticultural use. Any physical or performance difference is negligible enough to ignore, if existent at all.

Cree vs Epistar is probably also not worth worrying about, as both are supplemental to the main Samsung diodes. The Cree diodes are probably technically superior and more efficient, but again, any difference is probably negligible for our use.

The need for UV is somewhat debatable. You can do just fine without UV diodes but if the cost difference is small, I say go for it, because plants like UV light even though we can't see it. I have no idea if these lights include enough UV to matter, but it can supposedly help maximize quality and terpene production, I guess.

The 660nm far red is definitely beneficial. Again, I don't know if these have enough to make a big difference, but it encourages flowering and a lot of people have been using far reds to supplement their main spectrum, especially around lights-on or lights-off times. Like UV, this isn't essential, but it is a natural component of sun light that is missing from a lot of grow lights. I say go for it if you spend a few extra dollars, or if your budget is tight you may not miss it.

As for the main color temp, my understanding is that 3500k is your best choice if you want to use the same light for both veg and flower. Redder, like 3000k or 2700k is ideal for flower, bluer 4000k or 5000k is good for veg, and 3500k will work fine for veg without sacrificing much during the crucial flowering stage.

Hope that helps for a basic overview. It sounds like you have pretty much narrowed it down to a bunch of good choices already, all of which are very similar. For anything more technical I'll have to step aside and let the real experts give you better answers. I'm also going with a similar light from Kingbrite for a 4x4 tent, but a 2-panel 240W model because I'll be using 300W of COBs I already have. I probably won't pack the tent with as many plants as possible anyway, so that should be enough light for me. If that QB-knockoff works out and arrives trouble free I'll replace the COB light next cycle.

Old grower chasing his tail for a few days. Dumped HID lighting for cobs 2 years ago. I got spectrum down. Need to replace 800W actual cree's with quantum boards or strips without shadows in a 4x4 tent. TY.

Just so you all know. When buying from alibaba you can contact the seller before paying and request they send you a PayPal invoice from the company and pay for the order directly through PayPal. That way if anything happens it’s a better chance to get your money back with a dispute. Just tell them alibaba won’t accept your card or bank transfer and that you want to use PayPal.

I need help guys. I’m in the process of ordering 4x qb288 boards kingbrite. I ordered a Inventronics EUD-600S280DT 600W driver which is the same driver HLG uses to run 4 Rspec boards at 600W. Not realizing these aren’t R spec I think I may have made a mistake and they run. At 48v apparently.

i have a meanwell 600w B Driver I sent off for repair so that’s not an issue. I just have to wait to get it back. My main questions are:

1. will the Inventronics driver work ok and get 600W out of 4 of those boards or is it too powerful?

2. Will the Meanwell 48V work ok or is it two powerful for 4 boards at 600W?

3. If it is too powerful is the only way to get 600w is running 6 of these boards? I have no idea how these calculations work. Sorry guys

I asked kingbrite about the Inventronics working and this is what they replied with.


“Each QB board is 16 series 18 parallels, so each board is 48V, 700mA-2700mA.”

I'm guessing the inventronics driver is a constant current driver at 2800mA? If so, you'll get about 140w a piece, maybe closer to 150 since the currents higher. It'll be fine.
As long as it is what I think it is...
Series wiring with it though unlike the meanwell which is parallel

Has anyone tried out the Bava boards from Alibaba ?

I've bought 4 from them and so far cant knock them.

I got 4 of these


I like how you can switch certain colours off but I run everything all through veg and bloom.

I also have 36 x citizen CLU048 1212 running on 6 x HLG 320H C1400B that I remove or add cobs and driver depending on the situation. The cobs were my first dabble in LEDS as I was a big fan of CMH previously. No going back ✌
what ceramic metals were you using I have Philips vertically oriented and they do better than my hlg rspecs for intensity I want to go all led but I don't have any heat I would like to keep my heat as a by product and not have to use a heater maybe I can raise floor make room smaller plus get off cold concrete and I don't want to get into side lighting what would be my Max canopy depth with just top lighting I don't want to raise my electric bill and I can run a pretty deep canopy with CMHs

Yeah it’s a constant current driver at 2800ma. I was worried about the extra 100ma being delivered to the boards
