Hey Joe!

You're seedlings look sort of similar to the poor rhinos you had at the beginning of your other grow, but I'm sure you'll use your skills to nurse your babies back to health!

Quick request for ya though, Any chance you could snap a shot of your case from behind where the exhaust is? Oh, actually even better, any chance you could explain how you light proofed the exhaust?

Thanks in advance bro!

Day 31: Well we are definitely back on track now, they both seem to be growing new growth, so I am happy. Its sort of hard to tell on the weaker one, but I see new stuff coming in now, and the stronger one is doing great. The smell its already starting to give off is rediculous, I never had a plant smell this much in veg.

Still a little moist in the cups, so I will prob end up watering them tomorrow. Im glad I didnt start my blue widow. Only got one of those fem and wouldnt have want to lost it or almost failed with it.

Anyways, for now just gotta be patient and let nature do its job :)

Yeah they were definitly affected by the same thing with the nutes in the peat or perlite, but straight soil is good and is getting them job done now. I will nurse them back to health, take lots and lots of clones, and be on my way to a happy garden of healthy girls :)

Actually I am using a differnt case then I did with the original girls. But that one did have a carbon filter and it was NOT stealthy with it attached. I took an old box from something cut it in half, cut out an area ont he back and put some aquarium filter there. Then I put some carbon and another piece of filter. Placed that contraption against the fans from the outside, and viola, easy, ghetto, cheap filter made.

But now, the case I have I never really finished the inside of. Its 99% lightproof, leaks in one tiny spot, but you have to look for it to see it. But I dont have one on it right now, I will prob build one soon. Just make it inside and easily detachable. Theres a bunch of DIY if you are having trouble, or I can give you some ideas.

If you want to light proof, just make a 90 degree bend. I am gonna open the bottom up I think once I get a carbon on it. Once that is on it will already be blocking most the light and then just have an exhaust pushing air out.

Hope that helps, let me know what else I can do.

Looking good!! I understand why you're moving out of a computer case though. It is very small in our cases after you set everything up lol

Just because I am getting the new area set up does not mean I will retire the case. I can still use it to veg or mother or anything... I dunno just more space :)

Thanks for the advice :) Always appreciate all the help I can get. I know my soil was not ferted, but my perlite or peatmoss is and this is not the first time I made the mistake to use it.... stupid me :wall:

Yeah they look like they are coming back to life again and strong, well the one is. I hope the other girl does the same soon.

Day 41: Ok so we are back in business, things are growing right now. The smaller one is still stunted a bit, but she is coming along. My other girl seems to be taking off now, on her 6th or 7th node, minus the ones that fell off before.

Should I top or just start to LST her around the brim of the cup? I want to mother her and take clones, so which would be the best solution for this?

had the bigger one been in a proper pot, you would most likely be able to clone it right now. but the way it looks now keeping it in that cup .... maybe youll be able to clone in another month ..unless your gonna chop her in half ?
seriously man, your making it harder on ur self

Where am I going to get a bigger pot that is going to fit in this small case. You really think I am going to have to wait another month before I clone? I only need like 2 clones for now. I dont even have the other space set up.

But your saying if I would have them in bigger cups they would be growing much faster?

Ill head over to the store, and see what I can find

remember when i showed you my timeline for himalayan on page 2. that plant then was wider than yours is right now ... and it only had a couple nodes at 2 weeks old. please go back and look at your pg2 and look at those 3 pictures to see again.

that plant is a monster now, about 20" and mad nodes to clone and its slightly younger than yours and im also using CFLs.

i left one of my plants in that cup u got urs in and the same thing happend that yours is doing. growth stays very tight to the center of the plant and grows slowly up. it doesnt look like you have any nodes to clone at all yet, looks like all fan leaves.

i know your tryin to grow in a pc case but those cups are whats holdn u back.
switch to a bigger pc case;)

yeah for sure. i know they were stunted and had problems, so now that i have everything going they are growing much better. I will replant them ASAP, sometime tomorrow if I can get a better container. I wanted to finish my new grow space first before replanting, im really in no rush. I just need to have them ready before they run out of space and go in to the new area.

so yeah, ill get my new area ready faster and then ill have bigger containers and much more space :)

thanks for all the help i really appreciate it

Hey, Joe, where you goin' with that PC grow in your hands?

Just came down from a visit to the girls, pinched 4 old leaves (I prefer to clean the ladies and direct the power to new growth and spread more light) but stared at them for a whole 10 minutes, they look so promising and still so clumsy! I'll get a hold of a camera and send some pics, might start a journal earlier than expected so I can follow the progress on the box & plants. And not hijack your thread also! lol

Anyway, after reading the whole 72 pages(!) of the previous thread, I picked up with this one and plan on following it going live. Things seem to be going well now, I can't advise much on the pot size, but bigger tends to be better! You seem to be a good DIYer, so you could make some rectangular pots out of whatever and leakproof them with plastic, just drilling the usual drainage holes. They'd optimize the space usage as they could fit snuggly the case dimensions.

Keep up the good work, Joe!
