Obama is leading is so many states now that it's near impossible for Romney to win (he only has 3 combinations left now).
Obama leads Florida and he leads Ohio, Romney needs to win Florida and Ohio and he's quite a few % behind in Ohio, Florida is closer.
But either way Romney has to win both.

I'm pretty sure there are a lot of different ways each state can receive votes.
Everything from letter-votes to digital and in person.
And a lot of those have to be counted by hand.
On top of that many places had long queues and went many hours over their closing time to take in all votes.
That's why it's moving a bit weird.
