The far red thread

These probably don't get hot at all right? I'd probably just mount them to the 1-1/4" alum angle bar I'm using to build my lights frame for the heatsinks

anyone using UV as well ?
I read the whole thread but no mention of UV
I know it's the 'other end ' of the spectrum & not this thread but is there a UV thread ?
I understand that using UV can be hazardous & caution is needed

That looks great, you could power cobs, far reds, and some pc fans all from one source

Edit: just read some reviews about it and it was mentioned that if the power goes out it defaults to off when power is restored until the next time the timer turns on. This may not be an issue for far reds as they only run for a short bit. For a flowering timer it could cause issues if you can't turn it back on after a power outage. Something to keep in mind if you plan on using one
i have the feeling that that comment/review may have come from someone who didn't put the battery in correctly. There was another review that mentioned that you had to flip the battery around prior to using.

There was another thread that got side tracked by the discussion of UV use. Your best bet with UV is to use reptile CFL UVB bulbs, as LED UVB is either non-existent or super expensive.

I would be interested in one if that is true. Have you ordered one?

Uvb will shorten flower time . Uvb reptile bulbs will make the trichome heads more tan / red when dried. (Ice wax ) it does improve trich production. I ran them last batch. I honestly didn't like using them. I won't anymore.

Only a few place in the world will plants actually get uvb outside. Pretty much where the hole in the ozone layer is.

If trichomes are what you are after like me. Just find some super frosty genetics. Instead of trying to force an increase in trichome production.

I didn't enjoy the implementation of UVB rep bulbs either with my last tango with Mary. Finding "super frosty genetics" would prove more forthcoming and would definitely serve as more reliable method to attaining frosted buds.
