Well. We caught the 5 bass limit.... unfortunately we could not for the life of us catch anything over 2lbs.

Easily caught over 20 between the both of us. We ended up weighing in at 10.5 lbs.

1st place was 23lbs.

Still a ton of fun.
I’ve been hammering the bass here. Water is high (me too lol), so their hanging in the cattails and a blast to catch. IMG_4545.jpegIMG_4490.jpegLive well lid is 22” :o!

Past the barb in the thumb. Tried to tear it out with braid and that didn't work. ER didn't charge me. They numbed it and I took it out due to them not understanding how to deal with a barb.
ouch. happened to my old man once, he pushed it and turned until the hook was poking back out and cut the barb off

It was a consideration for sure. Unfortunately these are very small treble hooks. Not enough shank to go all the way through. If there was I would have just continued it through, cut the shank at the back and pull through. I've done that for friends multiple times over the years.

This is a large salmon J hook. Tried many times to remove it with 80lb braid but no go. None of the bend left to to push it through so off to the ER. Dr had to use pliers to get it out.

I've had some trout hooks through my nail, salmon skein hook in my hand kinda like your beauty there, but not as far inside. I was able to pop it through and cut off the eye. Had a muskie roll on me while getting the bait out it's yap, hooked my inside thigh (yikes the boys were ok...) with the back treble and tore a chunk out my leg. Ended up with a bad infection. I pulled it out of my leg and it came out like a cone of white slimy stuff. Kinda like a slimy bugle chip that smelled really bad lol
Best story is a guy got a muskie lure in the head (guy casting beside him). So the 14" rubber lure is hanging off his head he's bleeding everywhere goes to er, walks up to the counter and the lady goes 'what seems to be the problem'. He's like. Lady there's a 14" rubber lure hooked into my head and I'm bleeding everywhere.....
